According to me there are two reason for not connecting to internet through your ISP.
1. Configuration setup might have got deleted 2. Driver files may be corrupted
An important thing to know is We would not lose our IP address.
Static IP address wouldn't be changed while restarting our modem, Dynamic IP address changes on every restart of our modem. To know the Current IP address the following URL will be useful to you. http://www.ip-details.com/
hello Cadmb3220 Of course it won't work :) Once you set your zyxel in bridge mode all it does is translating adsl signal to comething that any other pppoe ethernet device can understand. so in this bridged mode zyxel has no IP, is not manageable and can't be accesed over an ip ...
only way to access it again is to do a factory reset ...
btw ... i'm almost sure that whatever nat problem you had - you had because you didn0t make the same rule in your firewall on the zyxel :)
Are the 5 IP addreses you mentioned public IPs assigned to you by your ISP? Also what is the end result you are after, the assigning of the public IPs to devices behind the router?
If you are connecting via usb you will need to install all software and drivers on your pc before plugging modem in. If you did install them already you may need to reinstall
If you connect through ethernet (RJ45 terminated network cable), you may have a firewall preventing regular acess to network.
solutions
1) restart pc and modem it may work just with this
2)USB only: reinstall all modem software, then restart all.
3)Ethernet only (network cable), |Restart all and disable firewall. If this does not work you may need to change network settings on your computer (fo example change IP from static to dynamic).
I had an almost identical problem and contacted Tech support at Zyxel. They were excellent and the guy talked me through to a solution. The main issue related to 'Bandwith management' which defaults to active on the router configuration. Unset all three (Wan, Lan, Wlan) and see if it sorts out problem. Because of some other issues I did have to reset the router to start with and on the wireless client I unset 'Obtain IP address automatically' and used an IP address with the default gateway set to the router address. If this does not help, I would recommend talking to Zyxel Tech Support, the consultant I spoke to was brilliant.
Just a suggestion...try to loop-back ping to make sure YOUR still on the network. If you are have you tried tracert? The IES-1000 is an IP-based DSLAM, so you should get something back.
