Check for dialing tone by pressing 'Talk On' phone button.
If no tone, check cord at base station and the phone socket is correctly plugged in at both ends using the original cord supplied.
If still no dial tone, check the phone at another phone connection to establish if either the phone or the line is faulty. Address for

Fax machine will not let me send fax out or come in. x4270

make sure the phone wire which you insert in fax machine getting proper dial tone and getting out going calling facility and line is working.go to menu option and choose the option fax and set the parameter like auto receive or manual set the ring auto answer mode after certain ring. If it is in auto receiving mode it will receive the fax after the ring which you set.

Can't use fax on HP C7280

Go to menu option and choose the option fax and set the parameter like auto receive or manual set the ring auto answer mode after certain ring. If it is in auto receiving mode it will receive the fax after the ring which you set. Make sure the phone wire which you insert in fax machine getting proper dial tone and getting out going calling facility.

LG Aria 7000 series phone system has suffered a power failure. Now can make calls out but calls in are not producing a ring though the phone line button is lighting up you cannot hear the call at all.

the problem can be either of the two options 1) the phone receiver has a mini speaker and ringer inside.if the speaker/ringer has gone short the incoming phone will not produce the ring.in this case phone receiver needs replacement. 2) in the unit phone there is circuit board if any of the ringing side of the component is gone short in the phone the phone will not ring for incoming call.in this case the phone needs replacing as cost of new board is near to new phone. so try changing the receiver first if that does not helps go for new phone. also to get the user guide .in that some trouble shooting instructions are given click this link directly http://www.lg-nortel.com.au/ldp7000ug/ This will help. My fax machine will send faxes but not receive them. I have made sure it is plugged in and connected but no faxes will come through. Please Help!

If you have an answering machine, have it answer at three rings. Have the fax answer at five rings. Let the answer machine go thru it's cycle, and see if the fax picks up.

What exactly happens when a fax should be coming through and it does not? Does the machine ring and fail to answer, or does it answer, possibly receive, and then not print? Which mode is the machine set for? Are there any error messages on the machine or other LCD message displayed?

Have you verified the telephone line is properly connected so that the machine is able to communicate? Make sure that the machine is able to use the telephone line by using the handset to make a phone call. If this fails, you will know to go through the phone troubleshooting problems, just as you would with any other phone issues.

If the phone line is functional, please reply with more detail re exactly what occurs when a fax should be coming through, e.g. does the fax machine answer the call or let it ring until answered manually? I believe that either there is an issue with the line, or there is an issue with the setup of the mode for receiving, but can not be more specific without more information.
