Hi,
The TV started making a machine gun noise when I turn it on for few seconds then it goes away. I noticed if I turn it on with the sound completely down to zero, it will work fine. Later it started refusing to turn off. I had to unplug it to turn it off. If I turn it off by remote, it turns back on after few seconds by itself. Now it stopped turning on at all. no picture comes up, the power light is on.
What do I need to replace to fix this?

Time ofr a new tv. The guns or gun control system is goign bad. Before it results in something worse ust replace the unit. Cost of repair is not worth the price.
First pull back off turn TV on watch Fan behind lamp more then likely it is going bad Fixed LG 9months ago and it was the Fan.If Fan Stops turning Lamp will not light.
its sounds like the guns has burnt your yube, when switching of does your tv show a bright circle in the middel, or while watching. Smack your tv on the side while on see if the picture goes away or make a bright circle in the middel, this is caused by a bad solder joint but you wont get rid of the bunt pixels sorry.
Got the same problem with my second TX-S3082WH Slimfit...the first had the same problem...it was deemed unrepairable and I was advised to return it to Circuit City...now a year and five months later Samsung support has been less than helpful as I am 5 months out of warranty...don't know what I'm going to do...any advice would be appreciated
A loud popping noise, like a sharp "snap!", is usually caused by high voltage arcing. Somewhere in the high voltage system an insulator may be cracked or loose, such as the plastic around the flyback transformer or one of the rubber cups on a picture tube. When the high voltage arcs, it momentarily drops and the picture could go out for a split second. High voltage is dangerous in projection sets so allow a qualified tech to service it for you.
