To be honest I do not really understand clearly your issue so I will pose a few questions that might clear things for me up:
1. No sound from internal speakers.
2. Speakers have be checked and are not open, disconnected or switched to external or variable audio out only.
3 A DVD or similar connected to a rear video and audio input has no sound.
4. The set had sound when hooked to the bose system.
Do I understand correctly or did I miss something?
If all the above is correct the set has a audio output problem (old trick is put ear directly to a speaker and see if anything, a buzz, faint sound or nothing at all.)
You don't say if all speakers work with the setup procedure. THAT is step 1. Then try FM as it doesn't require any cabling. Then move on to more complex sources like external analog, then digital (and make sure to assign the ports).
You DON'T connect speakers to this... this is NOT a powered mixer... you MUST use external amplifier !!!! You use bvalanced (TRS) cables to a suitable power amplifier which connects to speakers. Some Behringer mixers such as the PMP5000 have built in amplifiers to drive speakers... yours does not.
Crackling is not good. Sounds like it needs to be serviced if all of the connecting cables are in good working order. It can be repaired by Rita's Vintage Audio in WA state. They are expensive but good.
Ok Do the following, power up the PC and hit F12 Select DIAGNOSTICS - let em load and run only the sound test. This will make sure the speakers and cable are working. (make sure thewy are plugged into the right hole) then power on the system and hit F2 to enter the BOIS and make sure you disable on the on-board sound card. This is the one that is on the motherboard not the add in card. Reboot the system and then try your speakers in the SB card and see what happens Hope this healps you Mark
Try playing with the connection, sounds to me maybe the jack is going bad or has a shorted connection. Plug it in and out slowly to see if that's the issue.
