DEAR SIR/MADAM WHEN I TRY TO RECORD MY VOICE VIA MICRO PHONE SINGING WHILE THE CD MUSIC TRACKS ARE PLAYING I COULD NOT RECORD THAT TO THE MINI DISC.PLEASE ADVISE ME HOW COULD I CONNECT IT DIGITALLY

It is much easier to use an analog mixer and microphone thru the mixer. I would plug the microphone into the mike input on the mixer and then the Karaoke machine to stereo LINE inputs on the the Mixer, then Mixer Output or Tape Output on the mixer to analog LINE IN on the MiniDisc recorder.
Let me know if you need more info.

Need to connect to a sound blaster live sound card for recording using sonar as recording program. hace had it in storage for sometime and can't remember what went where

This particular mixer offers a usb (2 channel connection) that can be simply plugged into the computer usb 2.0. These channels should be available in Sonar from the channel Input/output drop boxes. You may need to restart Sonar, the mixer or both for them to be recognized. You may also need to run the Wav Profiler in Sonar. Typically the Wave Profiler is found in the Options>Audio menu but may be different on each edition of Sonar. The above info is for Sonar 7.

If you are wanting to record several channels at once then I would recommend connecting your Mixer's Direct Outputs from each channel to a corresponding input of the soundblaster if your soundblaster supports multiple channels. And then use the usb outbut from the Sonar to monitor the computer playback of your master stereo channel. Or, you may connect the soundblaster outputs to unused channels of the mixer or to the tape return or auxilary inputs to monitor the computer playback on the mixer.

Alternately you can send the signal to your soundblaster via the buss outputs. This will limit the number of simaltanious output channels to the number of busses on the mixer, but you can send any mixer channel to any buss without unplugging the instruments or mics.

Here's the link to the page where you can download the free pdf manual for this mixer. Page 14 explains the output connections and has diagrams.

Can I record stereo via the mic input on my Dell Inspiron 2200 please? Is there any way of getting a high quality stereo recording from a line level input signal without investing in an external sound...

Try using Musicmatch Jukebox,it`s a great program for this and doesnt cost much..has to be pro version to record. You can choose both line and mic stereo recording as well as burn audio cd`s...lots of great features...good luck:)

Having problems recording and playing back tascam dc-02 cf

I'm assuming you are plugging the left and right outputs from the karaoke machine into input A and B of the Tascam to record the stereo output of the Karioke. The Tascam works with mono only (you recreate the stereo mix at mixdown or when bouncing mono tracks together with the panning set). Therefore you should be assigning inputs A and B separately. You could press assign A and then the record button above track 1 and then press assign B and the record button above track 2. Then arm tracks 1 and 2 (by pressing record above each). When you then press play and record together you'll record input A onto track 1 and input B onto track 2.

Hope this helps.

Din Unlock C71

Hi,

your deck is expecting a digital signal provided by optical cable.
Hence the error message you see. If you want to record using RCA cables, you will have to set your MD recoder so to use analog input.

Press the INPUT key repeatedly to select the Analog input, then connect your RCA cable to the Analog input and start recording.
You may have to adjust the recoding level (or volume if you will).

OR you get an optical cable and then use the Digital Input 1 or 2.

See page 11 of your user manual for detailed instructions.

Cheers

Sound is coming out like broken speakers when using stereo input

The sound card would almost certainly fix the problem. One thing to do is to try a program like Audacity which will help you determine where the problem is. Then try it with your mic setup as it is.

Mother board upgrade

If the trouble is only input/output of audio signals, you may consider purchasing a sound-card instead of a motherboard. A good sound card will come within 50US$ and I'd recommend Creative Audigy or Soundblaster (5.1Channel or 7.1channel) cards for a professional like you.

Sound blaster conflict

Wow I have an audigy card and a Olympus and never had that problem before.

Goto soundblaster.com and make sure the audigy drivers are updated. There is an update to the olympus software available on their website as well.

If the volume is up too high on your recorder when it is playing back, it may shut the speakers down as a safety precaution especially if your sound card has a limiter to it.
