Which plug did you change? "EP" stands for Extended Play. A VHS recorder has three speeds. EP is the slowest. A standard 2-hour tape will record for 2 hours at the highest speed (SP), 4 hours at the middle speed (SP) and 6 hours in EP. There is a trade off. The faster the tape moves past the recording/playback heads, the higher the picture quality and visa versa. So EP gives you long recording time at a cost in quality.

I doubt that the unit being in EP mode has anything to do with the cable. You did not say what brand and model recorder you have, but in general, the speed is adjusted with a switch on the front panel (older models) or via your remote control.

My ge AEW18DMG1 window unit shows an error code EP. What does it mean?

GE EP code is main compressor sensor.
Check damage to the temperature sensor
Sensor Cable left side yellow.

My airco got visited by a rat and damaged the wiring.
Cut it rejoined and code 32 changed into temperature.
You need the sensor. Just joining the cables will issue 99 and it will cut off and change into 32
You need a working sensor.

VCR LP/EP compatibility

Vdumitre -

No, not usually. If you've recorded a tape at LP and put it another machine that doesn't have LP, it usually won't play properly. Some machines that have only SP/EP will do this, but they are got scarce as more manufacturers dropped the LP speed. Your best bet is to buy an older one from a thrift shop or a garage sale, making sure that it will play LP. Then, copy your older LP tapes to SP or EP (Run the OUT from the LP unit to the IN on the SP/EP unit, and choose "record from line in", "aux", or "rear input").

How do i connect headset to panasonic kx-t7433

Just connect the pre existing speaker or earpiece through a newly installed E.P. socket.Whenever headset is connected to the E.P. socket, internal speaker will be disabled and external will be enabled. Same you have to do in the case of mic. Some more details are given below.
1.E.P. Socket = Earphone Socket ( With Series Switch, A SPDT switch is already attached to the inner side of the socket, whenever an E.P. Pin / Plug is inserted into the socket, It changes the position of the SPDT switch).
2.The inner speaker / earpiece / mic should be connected through the N/C ( Normally Connected ) Contact of the socket.

Changing from sp to ep

it will automatically play at the speed the tape was recorded at. but if you want to change record speeds here's how: you should be able to access menu functions from the front of the vcr, if so, put a tape to be recorded into the unit and then set the timer for a couple of minutes.while you are on the timer menu it will ask you for recording speed. set the timer record speed to ep and let it record for two minutes and let it record for the full time untill it stops recording. the record speed will automatically change settings to whatever you used last on timer record.
