Re: My speakers are not working on my X-SMC3-S?...
It can be many things, most of all, the amplifier, Before all that, are you sure you have no headphones plugged in, and all the switches in the correct position?

that means the guy or someone who replace the new harddrive didn't to a good job on restiall a new window vista for you, just simply go acer.com and search your model, redownload the sound card driver.
Sounds just like the problem I had. I took the phone apart and removed the internal speaker. Tried the contacts with another speaker from another phone...and it worked. This leads me to believe that the internal speaker has failed. I am now on the hunt to get a replacement speaker.
well it seems that ur computer and soeakers are all right but there are chances that sonud drivers are not installed in your system. So you should check the sound system of your computers. For more free technical support just visit-------http://robs-tech.blogspot.com/2009/06/looking-for-free-technical-support.html
Hi, Your sound driver is corrupted or removed from your system.Try to re-install your sound driver and then try. also scan your system with some antivirus.
I'm having this same problem and have sort of solved it with a really wierd technique I found at Logitech. Evidently this problem is related to the control pod rather then the RCA jack. Try this:
Unplug the control pod from the subwoofer
Turn off the main switch
Turn the volume knob one full turn, tap the knob
Repeat again (2 times)
Replug the control pod
Turn on the main switch and the control pod
See what happens
I found that this got the speaker working finicky after it was almost totally useless. It seems to be cutting out randomly, but fidgeting with the control pod or it's connector jack fixes it. No clue what the deal is here, but your problem is identical to mine so take some time to screw around with these components with music running so you can hear if it suddenly works.
if your settings are ok sounds like you have a short or defective phone i encountered this before and i had to take it back to the store and get another one.goo luck.
If you have an amp in your system, I would check the preamp connections, as well as the +12V power, remote, and ground connections to the amp. It's possible the amp is not turning on or the RCA preamp wires got disconnected.
If there is no amp involved, the connector that connects the speaker wires to the head unit may be loose or some sort of "mute" may have been inadvertently enabled.
