GE ice maker

If the freezer is cold enough to freeze food hard, look for a problem in the water line, water inlet solenoid valve, or possible ice build up on the ice maker itself that does not the allow the ice maker to complete it eject cycle and start a new ice making cycle.

Stuff in the freezer is melting, motor is running, no cold

turn your freezer temp dial to off and wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on to max setting. if you have temp gauage you can try to check temp inside freezer, if not cold enough (less than 30 degrees) you could be losing freon gas. you need to call technician.

The refridgerator is cool, but not cold.....of course the same for the freezer. the freezer is running, just nor getting cold enough. food is thawing and thermostat is reading almost 40 degress in both...

Je your defrost thermostat, heaters or timer is not working correctly or at all. The freezer has the coils that freeze the freezer and cools your fresh food area. When your defrost does not work these coils become blocked with ice and will not let air from fans pass through!!! Leaving a moderate temp in fresh food area.

Freezer compartment of refrigerator not freezing

First, I think it’s important to know that the Ref side has no cooling coils, it’s basically a box and the cold air in the freezer is blown over by a fan through a channel into the Ref side. This channel has a door which regulates how much cold air goes through. You probably have two control knobs in the Ref side, one controls the temp with numbers 1-9, 9 being the coldest. This temp control tells the compressor how long to run. The other control is for that little door and it may have letters A-E, E being the coldest. If you set it on E (coldest) then this will close that little door and keep most the cold air in the freezer.
So, how can the Ref side be cold and the freezer side not freezing?

1. Coolant leak. There is enough coolant to keep the Ref side cool but not enough to freeze on the freezer side.

2. Defrost system failure. The coils on the freezer side are clogged with ice and it's just a matter of time when the Ref side won't cool either. The back wall in the freezer will be covered with ice/frost

My GSS22SGRE sise by side freezer & refrigerator temp is too warm

The defrost function on your refrigerator has malfunctioned. It is a possibility that That it could be the heating element, the temp sensor, or the main board. I am posting a couple of videos to help you out.
This next video will show you a defrost issue in a top bottom fridge and explain how a refrigerator functions. Now all fridges function on the same principle on cooling and defrosting however the only difference you will usually find is location of the coil whether it is a side by side or freezer on the bottom.

Gsh25vgpccc ge side by siderefrigerator

well if you keep that damper open im sure everything in your refrig- will freeze is the temp- in the freezer o.k. if you have an ice maker is it working properly because if your freezer does not maintain the right temp your ice maker wont work. if so you might have a bad temp control (thermostat)

Fan is Running

Your refrigerator isn't defrosting. When you melted the ice on the coils in the freezer you might have noticed a glass tube with a wire going into each end this is your defrost element that is probably bad. If it tests out good then your problem is either in the defrost thermostat, or the motherboard that tells your fridge when to defrost.

Items sometimes freeze on refrigerator side of unit - model GSS25LGMA

It is most likely a bad damper motor.  This is where the cool air comes out into the fridge section.  On this model it is a fairly common problem and comes a whole assembly.  The part # is WR49X10091 and will cost anywhere from $100 to $122.  Knowing this model I would bet this is your problem.  If the damper is bad and stuck open cold air will just keep blowing in.  It is suppose to open and close based on the temp setting.  Let me know if you have any other questions.
