SOURCE: Blank white screen, then off after 10 sec.
Try using a different battery. If that doesn't work, phone's IC must be damaged. Get the phone checked from a Nokia service centre.
SOURCE: Everything works but no display
Ah! My friend. you are lucky that you ask the right person. I have fixed so many V551 with LCD defect so this symtom is usual on v551 and most Motorola Flip phones. As you know, the construction of the LCD cable has been designed by a long ellectric thin wire and one side will connect into the main and CallerID smaller LCD and the other end will connect to the main board and the part in the middle will stuck inside the hinge where the flip will apply a lot of force for the function of open and close. for a long period of usage, it will either worn out the middle part of the cable or loose the connection of either side which cause loosing display. That is why you can call and receive but cannot see anything. The simple thing is open the case and check first at the main board side for any bad contact and tougher the other side is inside the main LCD. If you find both side are still good in connection then the middle part is bad due to flipping so many time of the user in order to open and close. YOU THEN NEED TO REPLACE THE NEW LCD. I have two solutions to help you in this case: 1) View on the link below for the instruction of how to open the housing. http://sbarth.dyndns.org/seiten/rahmen.php?nav=motorolahandy Sorry the link is in German but you can look at the picture to follow. 2) Or email me at [email protected] if you want me to repair the phone for you. SOURCE: problem monitor
Hi,
Sounds either a backlight problem (inverter or tube light) or the display interface.
Since you have confirmed that it is your LCD monitor, your best bet perhaps is to seek the services of a qualified professional.
Should you venture in doing it yourself (DIY), You need to open up the casing. A step by step procedure is better illustrated here
