I hv purchased and hooked HDMI converter (HDMI2AV) HDMI input to RCA output for my TV. But my TV is displaying a tiled projection only.

I am trying to project my laptop screen to TV with HDMI2AV converter - My laptop's Intel graphics control panel recommends 1920 x 1080 as native resolution for my TV, But unable to get display on the TV at this/any resolution other than one particular (1024 x 768) aspect ratio with settings "MAINTAIN DISPLAY SCALING".. It partially works but I get a 'TILED' display only... I see 3 duplicate verticals of my desktop divided by black bars. In all the others its a B&W flickering screen. When I do a detect & identify i can make out the skeleton of '2' on the background in tiled mode, so I know it is detected (in all other aspect ratios)...I have tried all different selections with duplicate as well as extended projections but no go! The partial working / image visible selection: -Resolution: 1024 x 768- -Refresh rate: 59p & 60p (both have same tiled displays)- Scaling: "Maintain Display Scaling"- The only other scaling option available is a 'CENTER IMAGE' but this option like all other selections, only gives flickering black and white screen.

Regent-HT-2004 To new Samsung but no sound comes out. Regent has only rca cables tv only has hdmi and optical. Have tried 3 different hook ups - rca to hdmi adapter with its own power source, hdmi to rca...

You probably will get the best result if you use a digital to analog audio converter. Amazon has a number of models: https://www.amazon.com/DA-Converters/b?ie=UTF8&node=3224445011 . You will need to provide the optical audio cable. You connect the TV's optical audio out to the converter's input. Then use the converter's RCA output to the home theater system's audio input.

The TVs HDMI port is only an HDMI input (possibly with Audio Return Channel). This isn't usually resolved by an HDMI-RCA Converter. This converter might have worked to split off the audio signal from a Blu-ray player with an HDMI cable to the converter and then another HDMI cable to the TV and the RCA audio going to the Home Theater system.

I hope this helps.

I have a Samsung LCD TV model #LN46B301FUZA, a dish VIP622DVR a pioneer VSX-D307 reciever and a Pioneer DV-414 DVD player that I am trying to get hooked up. The Dish tech hooked up the TV and DVR using a...

I can't find your TV model to have a look at the manual. Normally you'd use a 3-plug RCA cable (Red, White, Yellow) to connect the audio and video outputs of the DVR to an RCA input on the TV. Then, hoping you have RCA OUTPUTS from the TV, you'd use a 2-plug RCA cable to take an Audio OUT from the TV into one of the receiver's Audio inputs (assuming you want to play TV sound through the receiver.
If you have no RCA inputs on the TV, you can get an RCA to HDMI Converter from Amazon for $10-$15 to convert the output of the DVD player from 3-plug RCA to HDMI, then put that into one of the HDMI inputs on the TV. Likewise, if you have only an OPTICAL audio output from the TV you can get a converter for that -- Optical audio to RCA stereo -- and put that into your receiver as an input.

Unless you hook HDMI to HDMI, you won't carry sound across the HDMI cable. If you're using a VGA to HDMI converter, you'll get the picture but no sound.

I have a feeling the headset jack on the TV is an output rather than an input. Most TVs accept HDMI, RCA, or a digital audio input (either coaxial or optical). Unless you have a S/PDIF optical output from your laptop (and you obviously don't have an HDMI output), then your only other choice is likely to get a cable that splits a 1/8" headset type connector into two RCA plugs that you'll plug into an AUDIO IN input on your TV.

I just want to know how to hook up a hdmi cord to an old big screen hitachi tv

You can't, at least not directly. Older sets don't have any HDMI inputs, only composite video (the yellow RCA jack) and possibly component video (red, green and blue RCA jacks). Converters that take an HDMI input and generate the necessary video outputs are available, but they aren't cheap. And don't fall for the adapter cables you might find advertised with an HDMI plug on one end and RCA plugs on the other that supposedly convert the signal for you. HDMI can only be converted with some active electronics; a simple cable just won't work. If you want to hook and HDMI-only device to your old Hitachi, you'll need the converter.

I would like to know if I can connect a HDMI cable from My tv model WS-65315 to a Direct TV HD receiver?

NO> If your TV supports and have HDMI connections and your HD receiver has an HDMI output then you should have no problem displaying Video. Just make sure you change the input signal of your television to HDMI input. After looking at the spec's of this model these are the following inputs you have. your best picture quaity would be to use componet cables instead, which can show full screen 1080i format, your television does not show at 1080p whis is what HDMI is known for.
Connectors
Rear Input Connectors S-Video x 2 - Component x 3 - Composite x 2 - DVI x 1 - RF x 2 - 1 x RS-232C - Audio (RCA) x 6

Front Input Connectors S-Video x 1 - Composite x 1 - Audio (RCA) x 1

Rear Output Connectors Composite x 1 - Audio (RCA) x 1 - RF x 1

Another good option is use to use a DVI to HMDI connector and hook it up this way. But note: you will have to use audio cables for the DVI input.
