Morning I have a Stoves EFA600H electric oven and whilst the hob still works ok the clock and oven do not. The clock did start flashing last week and now has gone completely - any...

The electronic clock/timer must work correctly and be in manual mode for the oven to work. It sounds as if you need to replace the electronic clock. If you do not need the clock function it is fairly easy to bypass the clock altogether and the oven will work no problem.

Dhow do i remove stoves efa600H oven door hinges?

1. Open the oven door and remove the 2 screws at the side of the inner glass window 11cm above the hinges and lift off the door. Place it somewhere safe!
2. Remove the 4 screws that you can see nearest to the left and right edges of the oven with the door removed. These secure the oven to the kitchen unit.
3. Slide the oven forwards about 20cm out of the unit, being careful not to pull on the cable.
4. Each hinge is held in place by 2 screws at the side of the unit now exposed, about 18cm apart. Remove them and slide out the hinges. Reassembly is the reverse of the above.
5. Note that the hinges have no means of adjustment. If not working properly, renew them.

Faulty obsolete (20yr old) oven thermostat with separate fan/light switch. Can't find a 'universal' replacement. If I fit a standard 2 tab thermostat, the fan and light will switch with the element Stoves oven DF550 SI with a 46thc502/G5 thermostat which controls well (if 40C higher relative to the oven thermometer). However after an overnight cool down the oven element switches on when the mains is turned back on, even though the oven control is off. I just twiddle the oven thermostat control slightly and all is well. I can't find a 250C, 1m phile, 24mmx6mm spindle thermostat with a separate connection tab for the internal recirculating fan and oven light anywhere. Otherwise the single oven cooker works and looks like new (nearly). I was wondering whether I have to piggy back a switch on the back of a standard 2 tab thermostat (or vica versa) or attach a separate switch to the oven. Can't believe I'm the only one with this problem. I'm guessing some fragile electrical contact occurs in the thermostat on cooldown to turn on the element and its in-series lamp, and this contact easily breaks by slightly turning the thermostat. ps there is no timer and I do have the circuit diagram. I found a working solution to this problem: When turning off the oven, I don't take it to the end stop. I turn it passed the click when the element and indicator turn off, then further till the ligth and fan turn off and just a fraction further but not to the end stop. Now the oven element doesnt turn on each time I turn the mains on for some other reason ( eg grill or igniters). I guess there is something wrong inside the thermostat, but this work arround seems OK if not ideal. I've marked a new stop position around the oven dial to remind me. This was easier than making a physical stop for the oven dial.
