  • steph007 Nov 16, 2007

Not sure if you got my last comment

  • steph007 Nov 16, 2007

None of the above has worked sorry. No when i bought office i didnt know it didnt come without email. Paid heaps for it as well so that anoyed me. Yesterday i even uninstalled all my anti virus off the laptop to just put on avira, never use that one b4 but got recommend to me. Thought that the anti virus might have been stopping me from opening attachments. BUT i was wrong again bugger.

  • steph007 Nov 16, 2007

Yes the paperclip on the right hand side of the actual email. I have clicked on there and thats where nothing happens. Nothing happens even when i double click on the email and then double click on the attachment.

  • steph007 Nov 16, 2007

If i right click it it comes up with save attachment BUT BUT its a bit hard to explain but everytime i save it i cant find it again lol. I write down where abouts i save it and its not there. Strange aye. I think that it must be doing the same thing as when i click on it nothing happens cause i am sure its not saving. i have even tried to search the file name in the computer and its not there.

  • steph007 Nov 16, 2007

I have tried to save it to desktop but it only saves a shortcut and cant open it there either

  • steph007 Nov 17, 2007

The DO NOT ALLOW ATTACHMENS TO BE SAVED OR OPENED THAT COULD POTENTIALLY BE A VIRUS box has already been unticked and applied and then oked. That didnt make a difference i did that at the beginning

What email program do you use?

Outlook and outlook Express each have a new security built in that wont let you open certain attachments. If it is outlook I have a program you can install to allow attachment opening

Hey I cant open the attachment

Hi Shawn you need to provide more information like What type of file you are trying to open , what email program are you trying to open it in and what operating system and what version of ms office. One reason can be caused by having a lower version of excel or word that doesn't recognise the later file version in the email attachement. If this is the case get the sender to save the word file as an earlier version of word or as an RTF file type.

Have got new laptop and cant find where to get emails from

If you're using Windows 7 or Vista, try going to Internet Explorer, then registering at www.gmail.com or www.outllook.com or other service or logging in. In new systems there is no Outlook Express program.

Cant open attachments

That's not a problem with Vista, rather it's most likely a problem with the web server. Make sure you entered all your web server information in correctly (pop3, SMPT, etc), and make sure your mail server supports MS Outlook 2007. Just double check everything. If that doesn't work, try completely un-installing and re-installing Outlook 2007. If all fails, try downloading a 3rd party mail application and see if that works.
