Red light remains on, all other status lights off but unable to print. Samsung manual gives diagnostics but none correct problem. Have emptied the toner waste container which was virtually empty. Unable to print from any application. Using Mac Yosemite (10.10.3); have deleted and reinstalled printer and drivers.

Behind the little container for the waste toner there is a sensor that senses whether the toner basket is full or not. If the sensor itself is dirty, it can give a false reading. First try cleaning out the area under the container to see if the switch works. Also make sure the container is clean, because the sensor works by sight, so if it looks full because it's dirty, it will give a false reading. I have heard of people disabling that sensor in various ways, but that can get dangerous to the printer. I can't recall the details on that exact model, but I believe there is a diagnostic of some sort that can test that sensor to make sure it works right to begin with.
SOURCE: waste toner tank full/not install keep displaying
The sensor for the waste toner tank is dirty or defective. The toner sensor is on the right as you look at the panel just below the liquid crystal display. There is a bump in the clear plastic just below the circular right vent port, that's where the used toner pours in. When you clean out the toner cartridge there is some residue left that makes the sensor think it's still full. Take a piece of paper towel and a small screwdriver (I'm told a bent coat hanger will work, too) and clean the inside of the sensor window inside the used toner cartridge (w/ access through the toner port). It looks like a little raised groove on the right. Just wipe it until it's clear on the inside. The sensor can now see through the window and you should be okay. Otherwise, the sensor may need to be replaced by an authorized Samsung technician. Let me know how it works out!

SOURCE: Waste Tank Full - Solid Red Light
had the the "tank full" problem for a while. I was taking the unit apart and using my air compressor to get it working...not knowing exactly what was being cleaned to fix it. Saw the sensor issue in this thread and clean the clear part of the tank and the sensor on the left wall...but could not find the 2nd receiving sensor. Finally found it and it was filthy. This sensor is located in the housing that holds all the toners. You have to the pull this housing out by the green handle. Once out the sensor is not visible b/c a piece of plastic drops over it when the housing is removed. basically this hidden sensor will line up with the other sensor and the clear plastic in the waste toner cartridge. hope this helps
SOURCE: Changed the waste toner container,
I would suggest you to follow the steps in order to resolve the issue. Take out the power cable and wasit for 30 seconds and then plug in the power cable back in. Try working with the machin if still the issue persists then you need to get in touch with the manufacturer as it is a hardware failure.
