My son's LG Shine doesn't "shine" at all - it has never made the shine screen

That is not a setting. Only thing you can do is to send phone back to GSM service

I have seen lots of LCD Screens cracked or broken on an LG Shine. A replacement screen can be bought for around $20 from Ebay. And the process of replacing it yourself if rather simple. All you need are a small philips screwdriver and a plastic tab (guitar pick) or a fingernail.

the phone may need to reflash so you should take the phone to a mobile service center and have that done or try the lg website for more assistance.

Unfortunately, MOST of the time a broken screen will not be covered under the one year LG warranty.
