SOURCE: I need a blue print on how a sloan urinal flush

SLOAN FLUSH VALVES ARE SIMPLE. IT DEPENDES ON THE PROBLEM. IF THE VALVE KEPS RUNNING AFTER IT IS FLUSHED THE RUBBER DIAPHRAM IS DIRTY OR OLD AND THE RUBBER DIAPHRAM IS GETTING HARD. AND STICKING. THE VALVE WORKS ON A VACUME TO CLOSE THE DIAPHRAM TO STOP THE FLUSH PROCESS. WHEN YOU PULL ON THE FLUSH HANDLE YOU BREAK THE VACUME THAT FORM ON THE TOP OF THE DIAPHRAM WHICH ALLOWS THE WATER TO FLOW AS THE WATER FLOWS IT IS ALSO STARTING TO PULL A VACUME IN THE TOP OF THE DIAPHRAM TO CLOSE THE DIAPHRAM AND STOP THE FLUSH.
AS THE DIAPHRAM GET OLD AND WORN IT GETS HARD AND DOES NOT MOVE AS FREELY AND STICKS OPEN AND WON'T LET THE VACUME CLOSE THE DIAPHRAM AND THE URINAL WILL CONTINUE TO FLUSH. HOPE THIS ANSWERED YOU QUESTION

Makes load noise when flushing rattles the pipes

If the pipes are rattling, they may just simply need to be tightened (:

I have a Sloan urinal that will not stop flushing. I have rebuilt it with a total rebuild kit. I cleaned the inside of all surfaces and I flushed the entire piping system to no avail. It will not stop...

The rubber vacuum relief needs to also be changed if you have not. It is located in the tube that runs down to the urinal from under the flush valve. The handle could be hanging up.....or there could still be sediment stopping the diaphragm from working properly.

Urinal will flush, but will not stop.

You will need a sloan rebuild kit. They are inexpensive, and fairly easy to install. Check Sloan's website, or a plumbing supply house for the rebuild kit. You do not have to shut water off to the entire building to do this work. You will notice a chrome cover on the front portion of the line coming out from the wall. Remove this cover, and you will find a flat head screw. Turn the screw clockwise, and this will shut the flow of water off that is going to the area you will need to work on. The rebuild kit will come with instructions on the install. Again, it is relatively easy to replace. Just make sure you shut the water off, or BIG SURPRISES in your future.

How do you get the urnial spud assembly to seat to the top of the urnial?

you have to get a wrench and either hold the threads on the spud and turn the tightening nut or get a wrench inside the pipe and catch it on the notches in the middle of the pipe and it should tighten down and walla! make sure you have the right size for it as well if it's alittle off it wont seat
