water is coming from evaporator drain pan most likely. lots of humidity right now and 1st thing your ac is going to do is remove this from air. most likely cause would be condensation line clogged or if you have condensate pump, then it also could be cause. to remove cover usually you have to remove air filters look for any screws and possibly front louvers pull down. this usually does not give you access to drain pan. unit usually needs to be removed from wall plate and this might involve refrigerant lines being removed, and for that my friend you defiantly want a qualified professional.
Did you figure out why the ac wasn't responding to the remote? I am having the same problem. I just cleaned out the filters but it's still not responding to the remote. I have already tried reset button in the remote, which didn't help. I am pretty sure that the remote is not out of battery.
just buy a multi-purpose remote control and set in the users code lo...like that even don't have original remote control your aircon still can use until your are ready to buy a new one lo...
