I have a pioneer xv-dv282ap home theatre and there is no audio coming out from the speakers. The only way to make it work is to use an HDMI cable using the speakers from the TV.
I have done to factory reset everything but still not working properly. I have tried to use RCA cable but also not working. Audio only works using HDMI.
Re: I have a pioneer xv-dv282ap home theatre and there is...
Use rca red and white to connect to input on home theater, plug other end into tv output, now go into tv settings and find speakers and turn on external speakers, connect hdmi from home theater to tv input, you cannot record tv stations.

Hello Waseem, check that you have the connections between the Pioneer and your TV, so connect from the Pioneer's HDMI output to the HDMI input on the TV, with an HDMI-HDMI cable
Verify that the TV is selected for the Blu-Ray input
I hope you have luck in the checkup
Greeting Franco Dosil
Saludo Franco Dosil
The system is set up to output sound through HDMI to the TV. You can change the setting so the sound is sent to the speakers. The process for changing the HDMI output setting is in page 41 of the manual. You want to choose the AMPsetting. I have included a link to the manual and copied the text below.
1. Press SHIFT+SETUP.
2. Use ?/? to select HDMI SET then press
ENTER.
3. Use ?/? to choose HDMI MODE then
press ENTER.
4. Use ?/? to choose the setting you want
then press ENTER.
• AMP - Output Audio sound of the DVD/CD
and USB function signal from this system
• TV - Output Audio sound of the DVD/CD
and USB function signal from a TV or flat
screen TV.
You need a HDMI out on the Pioneer and a HDMI in on the TV. Then use a HDMI cable to connect the two. The input on the TV needs to be the same as the HDMI in port.
if the television has audio outputs it can, look on the back of the tv for audio outputs, they would be red and white jacks (or red and black) the red is the right channel and the white/or black is the left. If you don't have audio outputs on the tv, look for an earphone jack, you can buy a cable that will plug into it and then into your home theatre system.

On page 36 of the Pioneer users manual, it describes how to set your audio for HDMI interconnect. Follow the directions, and hopefully it will work. You can down load the manual from the Pioneer web site. Google "speaker system HTZ171 DVD". Click on the Pioneer site for your system and look for the download on the right side of page.
I hope this was helpful...
First off it's always best to start from scratch when it comes to home audio. LoL. Many times I've been in this situation.
So with everything disconnected. You should have your HDMI, COMPONENT, RCA(R,W,Y)
HDMI and COMPONENT are the exact same thing and in all preference COMPONENT is far better thand HDMI for the pure fact that each wire is in it's own casing and insualted to avoid feedback from the other wires.
Anyways, with everything disconnected we begin
From you Cable/satellite box- Run your HDMI cable from you cable box to your HDMI 1 input on your tv.(If your speakers were to work on your tv you would automaticaly get sound and picture)
That should be all that you should be running from you cable box. Now that we have one thing running we go to the next thing.
From your TV run your audio out (RCA Red/White) to your amp. Usually your preference but more than likely your TV IN on your amp.
With your amp now set on TV, you should automatically get sound from your tv. and if your running an HD cable box even though your only running RED/WHITE to your amp, you will still be receiving Digital sound.
Most new amps Should have a digital input and if your running and 1080iUp this one RCA plugin will give you dolby digital sound from your dvd player to your amp. Then running a video rca up to your tv, will give you the picture, while the digital out on your dvd player to your amp will give you dolby digital sound.
It's a basic simple step to get sound. Like a continuing current. So just as long as you have your cable to -- tv -- home theatre. Everything should work. Otherwise I would go and check your cables and make sure they are not faulty.
I hope this confusing walkthrough helps.
You must run a Digital Optical cable from your PS3 to your reciever. Then press your function button on your recievers remote until you see SAT/CABLE on your recievers display. Next go to your PS3 settings and go to Sound settings, then Audio Output settings, and select Digital out (OPTICAL) then your done. This is the only way to get true digital sound from your PS3 to your reciever.
