I took my camera to a football game and had it in my hat box for my marching hat and it started raining and water got inside my hat box and on my camera. now the camera turns on but you can't see anything on the screen at all it's pitch black. my dad took the camera apart to dry it out but the screen still won't turn on. if anybody has any solutions please let me know.
Bummer, you'd have to replace the damaged parts if it is totally dry now and still won't come on.
http://www.precisioncamera.com/ fixes any type of camera but depending on the age of it, it may be more economical just to replace it.
Other thing you can try - If the camera was purchased less than a year ago ( or is under manf. warranty) at Best Buy you can try to take it there and get them to replace it. They have a deal with Canon that they can just ship back *most* defective cameras rather than shipping it in for repair. If they want to ship it in, don't send it because they are going to send it back with a charge for it being water damaged.
Now if it looks like it has been taken apart they probably aren't going to replace it.
