Turned outs in, it turned on for a second then died, checked breaker, and reset button on machine all are good there, unit will not turn back on? It was plugged into an extension cord at the time, not a heavy duty cord. What can I do?

Have you confirmed the GFI on the electrical plug of the power washer has not tripped? You might make sure by pressing the Test button, waiting a few seconds, then pressing Reset.

My pressure washers motor wont even turn on when plugged into the mains ive tried changing the socket fuze to see if thats the fault but still the same.. any help much appreciated

If an appliance seems to be completely dead, you need to trace the power all the way from the socket outlet to the inside of the appliance.
Check the obvious first and ensure the outlet is working by plugging another appliance into it.
Open the plug and check the wires are screwed securely into the pin terminals.
Often the cores in a cable will break due to metal fatigue at the point where they exit the plug or enter the appliance.
Remove the plug and pull firmly on each cores of the cable. Often they will break and pull out of the cable if the copper is broken.
After that it is a matter of opening the casing of the washer (turn off the power) and doing a continuity test for each core to ensure the wires aren't broken. Do a continuity test on the power switch also to ensure it is working.

Hello

Plug the microwave into the outlet if the microwave won't power up. Make sure the plugs on the microwave match the type of outlet. A four-pronged outlet can only be used with a four-pronged plug. Same with three-pronged outlets---they only work with three-pronged plugs.

Inspect the plug. Make sure it hasn't been cut or tampered with. Four-pronged plugs can't be cut down to fit a three-pronged outlet. Three-pronged plugs mustn't be forced into four-pronged outlets. A three-pronged plug mustn't be used in a two-pronged outlet, either.

Replace blown fuses, or if there's a circuit breaker, check it for tripped breakers. Sometimes the trip won't be obvious, so cycle the circuit breakers. Turn them all the way off and then back on again.

Plug another appliance in the outlet. You will find this easier with three-pronged appliances. Simply plug a toaster, or other appliance into the microwave's outlet, and see if it works. If it works, you know the problem is with the microwave, not the power circuit. Have the microwave serviced or replace it. If the toaster or other appliance doesn't turn on, you know the problem is with the circuit.

Water starts to spray from the bottom of my Bosch Aquatak 120i when i turn the water on. Is it still safe to use when this is happening

Electricity and water can be a hazard which could be life threatening, but you can operate electrical equipment in a wet environment if you are careful and follow safety precautions. Most import, make sure the electrical outlet you are using for the pressure washer has a working ground plug. Just because an outlet has three prongs does not mean the ground is working. You need to use an outlet tester which is inexpensive from a hardware store or use a multi meter to test the ground for conductivity to earth ground. Your power washer should have a working GFI (Ground fault interrupter), and you need to press the test button to make sure it is working. If your power washer does not have a GFI purchase one from a hardware store. I would also plug the power washer directly into the electrical outlet since an extension cord could have a bad ground connection and will cause the power washer to pull more current from the outlet. Make sure the power washer is raised of the ground so it will not sit in a pool of water. If you follow the safety precautions you should be safe but keep in mind water does not carry the electrical current, it is the impurities in the water which carry the current. Therefore, water could be more conductive depending on the impurity of water. However, it sounds like a loose connection in the power washer which could also be an o-ring or a washer is broken and it would b a good idea to have it fixed.

Craftsman model 580.752020 electric pressure washer. First time I used it worked for about three minutes then the motor stopped. I cannot get it to start again. Plugged into a 15 amp gfi circuit which did...

turn off water and machine electrics.

remove high pressure hose from front of machine, this may be tight if there is still pressure in the system.
turn on water, when water comes out of machine hose outlet turn on machine. does the machine turn on and water flow increase, if so you probably have a blocked lance jet or trigger.

remove lance extension if fitted and fit hose back to machine, try again. If its ok then this proves you have a blocked lance jet, maybea poke about with some stiff wire will free the obstruction.

If this doesnt bring on the machine you probably have a jammed pressure switch on the pump.

this pressure switch turns on the pump when the trigger is pulled and switches the motor off when the trigger is released.

hope this helps.

Karcher K3.92 M 1750 PSI poweer Washer motor won't start. Followed Reset/Test/Reset sequence with cord plugged directly into outlet. Light on cord near Reset comes on when Reset pressed down but goes off...

They are sensitive to large extention cords. My father in laws pops reset when a small cord is used. If internally shorted- motor will continually pop the reset even plugged direct to outlet. Check voltage at outlet.

Moved Washer and Now no Electrical

Suggestion: You dont need any special outlet. With a tester (you can get this in any electric shop) see if there is power in the outlet. You said it was hot?? It is not supposed to be hot. Try another outlet; & you could unscrew your machine plug to see if all the three wires are okay, ie. well connected, screwed in.

Used kenmore stackable washer and dryer P/N 145781-000A

was the machine working when you bought it? if there's 240 available, then a problem is in the machine NOT your wiring. both motors, the dryer and wash motor may be 240 volts OR 120 volts - a hot leg to ground. the feeder should be a four wire because the white is the neutral and the ground an equipment ground. at the panelbox both the equip gnd and white terminate at the neutral bus.
