Find the user guide for your universal remote and use the RCA cable tv/satellite codes, and one should work for your RCA DTA800B1 converter box. My Sharp Aquos remote liked the RCA satellite code.
Whichever device came with the remote will tell you how to program the remote in the manual if it is a universal remote. You can obtain a manual from their websites if you dont have one. I have a list of codes from my Comcast Cable Universal remote. Denon's are 1104 or 1360. Sharp tv are 0165 or 0093. These codes may or may not be the same, but you will still need a manual for the remote to learn how to program it. There so many different features with each individual piece of HI-FI that I still need all of the remotes anyway. The best advice for you is to just buy yourself a nice remote caddy\organizer. I have installed a little shelf next to my bed for all 7 of my remotes.
I have the same TV.
I called RCA and they said the remote is not 'code compatible' and that
I should check back with the website in the future. I think a learning remote is the only option at this point. Maybe a Logitech Harmony?

hi just a tip! try to program your remote to control both your tv and the cable box both at the same time so when you try to adjust the volume automatically both tv and the cable box will respond. you can actually call uverse for that so that they can assist you on programming your remote to your tv and cable box. hope this would help goodluck!!!
The above mentioned is a link to the rca site for your remotes codes. I didn't see a direct tv satellite as one of the options under SAT. But the code for your TV should be listed (I would try the Phillips listings first)
