If you are getting this error when trying to play games from memory stick i might have the solution for you.
1) Back up your data on memory stick to PC using usb cable.
2) Format your memory stick from PSP.
3) Copy game from your PS3 to your PSP using usb cable.
4) Copy game saves etc. from your PC back to your PSP.
5) Play your games on PSP.

well it could have been a bug,it is usually caused by dirty pictures and etc.

if your tryin to play games that you have downloaded from sites like pspstuff4free.com and you have to buy a new battery for your system like apandora battery and then you could play your games off there, if you download games of the playstation network then you may have to redownload them cuz the games didnt download right

UMMM you don't need to upgrade you need to downgrade. Once you downgrade you can actually go ahead and upgrade to a custom firmware wich are the ones that allow you to do that and much more.
