How do i go about replacing the uv light

Have no idea on how to change the uv light on my filter can you help

Obtain proper replacement bulb
shut down entire filter for a moment before unscrewing the top locking ring off Uv filter (left turn) lift top off set asside
using a soft clean rag retract uv tube from its cylinder holder inside , remove power connector from tube end (you should have already removed all power from converter box) with extremely clean rag handle new tube ( allow no forign material to touch outside of tube ) reinsert power connector onto new tube (same way it came off old one) then reinsert tube into holder sleeve , route power cord to proper places away from lid , replace lid and install lock ring back with enough force to ensure a leak proof seal , re start pump ck for leaks if none found then restart power converter for Uv filter

Is there a gasket or o-ring that is damaged or bad? IF not you can run a bead of silicon around it where the surfaces join and let it dry before you put it together. This would make a gasket.

Take the filters off and there should be a small tray that you pull out. The bulbs are in the tray

I have a canon EOS 450 and on a recent trip to Iceland, clear light but lots of lying snow, most of my shots came out with a very blue cast. I had a UV filter attached. Can you help?

The UV filter should have been OK, in fact it would have decreased the blueness - The OES has a 'snow' setting I thought - what this does is change the white balance.
If your pictures are now on the computer try and change exposure setting , and also contrast.
By reducing Colour Saturation (removes blue) you will also loose some sky color.

How do you change the uv bulb in a hozelock vorton 2200

remove the 2 screws at the end of the unit and pull the end off.the bulb is attached and will come out with it.pull the bulb out uf the holder and replace.(on mine the screws have 2 differnent heads on for some unknown reason)

UV bulbs, or rather the RCI cell needs to be changed every three years in the FreshAir, or when the "Replace RCI cell" appears, whichever comes first. The UV bulb loses its intensity over this period of time.

Where can I get a replacement ultraviolet germicidal lamp? I have been to Brookstone store and on line without help. My unit is a Pure Ion.

Skylight filters don't generally block UV, they change the colour tint optically, which you can do without danger of image degredation in post-processing, so I woudn't really recommend using a skylight filter for digital cameras. I haven't tried a UV filter on my fz10, only my circular polarizer. From what I've heard however, a uv filter may act as lens protection (or use the lens hood), and might in some circumstances reduce haze (rarely), and there are unconfirmed rumours of possibly reducing purple fringing. If anyone could ever confirm this, I might consider one. Otherwise, UV filters also seem peripheral for digital photography. Probably the most important optical filter you can use is a polarizer. This can cut a lot of excess scattered/polarized light and reduce excess contrast, increase sky colour saturation, etc. It's effects are extremely difficult or impossible to get in editing.
