Call Warner. Sounds like box is not configured properly to your tv.

Testimonial: "I had a guy from Time Warner Cable here today and he couldn't figure it out. He was here to fix another problem."

you didn't say if you have a sound system. if you do you must turn off TV sound in settings. Two sound systems would cause this problem. you could also try a reset of your TV to all defaults. if that doesn't work call Sony. they have helped me in the past. . Also when you connect to a cable box, its settings must not conflict with the TV settings......Hope this helps. Before you call Sony ,may be a TV problem, try the steps I suggested first.

I don't have a sound system. I have tried everything and it still makes the high pitched sound.

With set up box audio in to tv causes high pitch sound

I am assuming this should read 'Set top box'. What kind of cable are you using?

Usually the set top box connects via a SCART lead but yours may be HDMI if it is a very new set top box.

If you are using RCA plugs, you may have cross connected the wrong cables. The RCA cables should be colour-coded. RED and WHITE are for audio, Yellow is for video.

Best advice is to switch it all off, remove all the cables you attached, and start again. The instruction manual/user guide usually has an illustration to help you identify what your set up looks like - there are usually several examples.

If the cables you need did not come with the set top box, you will need to purchase them.

When you are connecting audio leads, you should use the 'audio out' on the set top box and the 'audio in' on your TV set.

It would help to know the EXACT model number of LG screen you have and the make and EXACT model number of the set top box.

Good luck.

High pitch noise

Hello,

Sorry to hear about your issue, let me see if I can help.

What type of tv is this? tube or flat panel? If tube, have you recently moved it and shook it up a little?
If panel, are you using an hdmi hookup or just regular cable from a cable box?

Be sure that your hookups are on tightly and that your cables are not tangled as well especially hdmi cable. Let me know if any of this is helpful in solving your issue or if I can be of more assistance. Once you respond I can help more, just need more information..

Thanks,
d

Toshiba HD ready TV ct 90158 makes high pitched sound

A high pitch sound can be a capacitor losing power it would sound a bit like a fire work. most have back up on the board but it put more pressure on them the more times you use the tv. would check them and replace. all of them can be 5 in a row in some models.

High-pitched sound when using surround sound

I had the same problem, check your wires on the back of the tv and make sure your, red, yellow and white wires are in the correct holes. What kind of tv do you have, as I have an Ilo, and it has like 15 different plugs in the back, you may have to get you book out and make sure you have it in the correct hole on the back of the tv... I hope this helps....

Sony Trinitron KV-19TS20 Screen displays purple static or awful image.

This unit needs a tuner. A new one from Sony will run over $70, so I doubt that it is worth it. It is possible that poor ground connections could cause something like this, but the symptoms seem a bit too severe. I think it is time to invest in a newer set.

TV making high pitch sound

Hi, There are usually 1 or 2 fans inside the TV's. Could be worn bearings, or fan blade interference. Sorry, without my electric ear working, I can only guess.

High-pitched sound when using surround sound

THANK YOU Guest (4/10/08)!!!
That was exactly what I needed! We have had our system for 4.5 years and suddenly, the FM feedback on everything, but DVD and Radio! Your fix helped. Once I set all my presets (at least the current one) to a clear station, the feedback stopped. Hallelujah!! We can enjoy this piece of junk once again! ;)

High Pitch Sounds

In this model the horizontal drive coil vibrates and makes a high pitch squeal. Most times it is intermitent. Touching on the coil with something (non electrical, like wood) will make it stop or change it's pitch. The fix my shop uses: It's not to technical, but, we put fingernail polish around the coil. It's a remedy I've used for decades and has always worked. Some shops use a hot glue gun. With the back open you can hear the coil to locate it. When fixing the problem have the set unplugged. When a technician is working on a television while it's plugged in. He uses only one hand and stays away from the high voltage.
