Hi Nigan, it's Jack at Dyson.

If your Dyson Hot + Cool fan heater is displaying an E8 error code, you may need to reset your machine. To do this, just switch off and unplug your machine from the outlet for at least 30 seconds. Once you've done this, plug the machine back in and test it - the error code should have cleared.

If you're unable to reset your machine, please contact the Dyson Customer Helpline directly so we can provide further assistance. If a repair or a replacement part is needed, we can confirm if this is covered under your Dyson warranty. When you have your machine easily to hand, please give our experts a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Hi. I have a Dyson AM05 fan heater purchased July 2014. Whilst the cold air works brilliantly the hot air doesn't work at all. It shows an error message E8. Any advice?

I suspect that the microprocessor detected an overheat fault and is keeping it in E8 mode to prevent fire. The code needs to be cleared somehow. If it has some buttons on the front then try holding one whilst plugging it in. This may reset it. The reset will be something along those lines. Don't open it because if you can't fix it that way you need to take it back to the shop.

Defrost timer on TFX27PF

HI SCOTT.a bit vague but i'll assume u mean it blinks but it cools for 4 days and then starts defrosting right?(temp drops u mean it gets warmer NOT colder.) well first i would check your condensing uni thoroughly.check if evaporator is iced up or not.ventilation ok.if iced up defrost all 24/48 hours and try .u could get lucky.if same again check heater and t/stat and defrost timer.if not iced up check refrigerant. fan motors. and compressor.good luck ali

Vegetable draw is getting too cold and freezing contents,

Good day,
Seems to be a common complaint when colder weather sets in.

This problem seems more acute when the rooms cool down, and the machine gets light usage.
The main reason, is the machine stays off for longer periods of time and the air stratifies in the fresh food compartment.
That is, the cold air tends to settle to the bottom of the compartment when the machine is off and the circulating fan is not running.
recommendations are to set the thermostat to a warmer setting..
Sounds good, however, there are techs who recommend setting it to a colder setting, to keep the fan running more frequently.

I know it sounds ludicrous, but it's primarily the result of trying to keep one compartment at 0 degrees and another at 37 degrees using only one compressor and one cooling fan.

Many years ago, many refrigerators had 2 fan motors, one for each compartment, and 2 thermostats. These machines never had this problem.

Frig too warm, freezer too cold

if there is ice build up you have a defrost problem. either the heater bimetal thermostat timer or evap fan could be bad. you could also have a stopped up drain. if the coils get too much ice build up the air wont beable to travel through them and the bad air flow will cause the fridge to become warmer

Heater is getting power, but will not work

I guess of heater element are open and this can cause the fan from not working because both of them are on the same wiring
