Screen remains blank at start-up

This seems weird but it DID work for me!

It saved my EEEPC 900HA from the same problem.

Here's what I did:

-Remove ac adaptor
-Remove battery
-Hold Power buttton for 32 seconds (yes I know its weird..)
-Remove bottom cover on laptop to reveal memory.
-Remove memory CAREFULLY (move metal tab either side that is a bit springy to release & place memory on table without rubbing or touching it apart from edges)
-Look at circuit board where memory was installed.
-search for two very small copper arrows right next to each other (they look like elevator some up & down arrows)
-Use a small screwdriver to "short" the arrows (touch both arrows at the same time - for at least 5 seconds)
-Re-install memory
-Replace botom panel & battery
-attach ac adaptor
-power on

If you see the gray screen - it worked.
As far as i can tell this process resets the bios so make sure to enter the setup and check your time and date.

Good Luck. :)

Put new batteries but it wont turn on... it was working before it ran out of batteries about 2 months ago..

Could be the screen has been dimmed so much that you can't tell that it's coming on. Press on and then 2nd button and the up arrow key. You may need to keep pressing 2nd and up arrow key. This is how you darken the screen. You can also lighten the screen which may be the problem you have by pressing 2nd and then the down arrow key.

If this doesn't work, take out the internal battery that is located in a tiny door with a screw right above the 4 AAA batteries. Leave this out for about 8 hours and put it back in. Put in the AAA batteries and the calculator will be reset and may work.

Calibrate touch screen

Actually, the red cross's movement is part of the calibration. Continue clicking each individual red cross until you get a confirmation notion notice.

In order to calibrate the touch screen, the DS needs to know where certain areas of the touch screen are relative to the actual display. Basically, you're not really controlling the display. You are interacting with a hidden interface, which is the touch screen. But in order for you to "interact" with what you are seeing, the touch screen is laid across the display.

Treo 600

That means your touchscreen is no-good at all. I had the same problem. Had to get a rebuilt 600 from Sprint (thank god for the insurance plan).

Touch screen

You may have dust accumulation around the edges of your touchscreen, between the screen and the case. Try using a can of compressed air. Gently press down on the edges of the touchscreen to expose the gap between the screen and the case, and shoot the air in there. This worked for me when my Treo 600 touchscreen stopped responding.
