Question about HP Officejet 7210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Carriage jam I had a small paper jam - which I thought I fixed by removing all the jammed paper -- and now I can't get rid of the error message "carriage jam. open door. clear carriage jam and then press ok." I've double checked that there is nothing still stuck in the printer; i can't see any paper, etc. I've turned off the power to the printer, re-booted the entire PC, and still no luck. Any thoughts?

If you take the print carts out you can see a copper coloured belt behind the cartridges. Pull this so the cartridge slots move all the way from one end of the carridge to the next. This fixed it for me.

Hello,

For the cartridge jam, that means that either the ink is not properly installed or there is one tiny piece of something blocking the sensors. Same is true with the carriage jam. Please try to look for small bits of paper and remove it.

Is the ink newly installed?

Carriage Jam -- Paper Jam

I have serviced an officejet pro L7580 which was showing a paper jam error when powered on. our customer had had a paper jam and removed the paper . I found small peices of paper in the pick up assy gears. If you remove the rear door, you need to check the 2 small white gears on the left. turn the roller slowly by hand and clear any paper stuck between the teeth. (they may be very small).

after doing this....no more paper jam errors for me!

How do I get fix a "carriage jam"?

I was able to run run a piece of photo paper through a couple of times and printer now seems to be working again. The theory was that running a heavy piece of paper through might help clear little piece of paper that was not visible. The photo paper is less likely to tear if it gets jammed too.
