A very simple solution to repairing all by yourself is getting help from handbooks, they're very detailed and complete in every way so for me it was my best source to repair

diagrams are not to be found for most modern sets as they only sell boards---

google the model with "parts" to locate the board which in most cases will have a photo of it---then you know what to look for

I doubt they can see or hear you here--tried calling them?

I think you just answered your own question you need to replace the inverter. Can be purchased very cheap off Ebay ive picked them up for less than $10 .....cheers from Scott and plz vote

I can tell you exactly which 3 dollar part to replace . But i put my time into my education and if i just tell you for free my kids will go hungry.

I'm not sure if Akai has made any of the sets that carry their name; some have come from Samsung and others purportedly by Funai but when I have tried to find service information on given models, it has been a dead end regardless of who made it. The true manufacturers refuse to recognize model numbers assigned by Akai.
If you had just burned resistors, I might be able to help you but when missing, you're kind of stuck.

The inverting and non inverting is to phase the speakers correctly, particularly for low frequency reproduction. . If say you had the amp driving subs at the back of the room facing say for the example full range speakers at the front of the room, then you would need to invert the signal to prevent phase cancellation occurring. If everything is facing the same way, you need to use the noninverting setup for the bass towers.
