Question about Pioneer PDP-507CMX Television
SOURCE: My Pioneer PDP-507CMX won't turn
Hi there, first, there's a common problem with flat panels, and that is overheating issues.
Most flat panels in general suffer from powering up due to failure of capacitors that are located on the internal power supply board, reason for this is extensive heating .
If you don't mind to disassemble your TV, look at the power supply first; look for burnt parts and specially for bad capacitors.
A sign of a bad capacitor is to look at the top of the capacitor, if the top is flat is good, if the top is bulged up is bad.
Another example of a bad cap.
The top of the capacitor has to be totally flat to be good, if is even a slight bulge on the cap, is bad
If your willing to do this task and with a little soldering knowledge, you can go and get these parts at a computer parts store for a few bucks and you can save a ton this way.
Hope this help and thanks for choosing Fixya.
