You don't really have to disasemble the computer. Just use a compressed air to blow it out. you can buy compressed air in a can, or use an air gun if you have one. I just use an air adapter on my scuba tank, and in less than a minute I am back in business.

The a75-s2112 is a great powerhorse when it works. The problem you are having is due to the fact that the processor used is from a desktop computer. So it gives off alot more heat then a normal laptop but has a blazing fast speed. Since it has a higher heat it needs more air to keep it cool, so toshiba put 2 large fans on the bottom. Great thinking right?? So the problem begins with the fans and their placement. Over a period of time the fans suck up so much dirt an lint it begins to clog worse then you lint vent on a dryer. So there fore it needs to be cleaned a few times a year. I usually do mine once every 2 months or so.You can google "dissembling a75-s2112"and find a guide complete with pictures. Toshiba makes it so easy compared to other manufactures. So i cant complain. I use two a75's alot for mobile music recording an production with great results. Good luck

Recovery xp

Need more information; Recovery CD will whipe out all data and reinstall everything.

If this is what you need to do, you need to contact Toshiba and ask them to send you a new Recovery CD explaining to them the old CD is damaged and unreadable.

They more than likely will charge you for the new recovery CD.

Dvd/cd not recognized by the computer

Assuming that it was working and now has stopped, you can try to run the utility called CDGone.
To find it, Google CDGone.
If this doesn't work, then most likely the drive has gone bad and must be replaced.

Toshiba Satellite bypasses bios and boots straight into windows please help. Pressing F2 or trying to boot into safemode does not help.

sometimes thewindow of time you have to hit the f2 key is very short. if you can't open the bios by tapping on the f2 button before it says "starting windows", try removing one the the memory sticks and restart with just one installed . The computer should see the change and prompt you into the bios.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A75-S2112. It is

there is a panel underneath with a small phillips head screw holding it. take battery out first, then flip computer over. Take out screw(place in zip loc bag for later)..ground your hands on metal somewhere, and then release the memory cards, by holding extreme outside edges. make sure NOT to touch gold fingers. Make certain you have compatible memory before you do this.

cutemah, Is your cd/dvd internal or usb? Have you tried to login using safemode? When the first Toshiba screen appears press the F8 key. Choose safe mode. Since you say the cd/dvd isn't being recognized that too may be the problem. Try removing the cd/dvd player and see if the machine starts. Is the error code only 0x57 or is there more? It is sounding more hardware related than software related. What program are you using to format the hard drive? Send me a little more information please. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim
