To burn videos to playable DVD, you can try Leawo DVD Creator. The program is easy to use, and can deliver a stable performance when burning any video to a DVD disc or ISO files or folder.

Hello,
Some dvds have different dyes and as such some dvd rws wont recognise them, i had this problem with my new laptop and I only discovered it when i tried to burn back up discs. generally dvdr- are more suited for burning from your computer, you could try using differnt blank dvds AONE and RI-DISC are good discs, if you are unsure ask at your local pc shop ,if your in Glasgow Priceless computing offer good advice and carry a large selection of dvds, I would avoid the pound shop as the quality of their dvds is poor, should the problem persist take the dvdrw back to the shop where you bought it from, I hope that you are lucky.
Have you tried using MAGIC DVD RIPPER ? this is a program that allows you to copy dvds to your hard drive in dvd quality and you can then burn them to disc using nero, you get a free trial of this program from magicdvdripper, its good if you rent a dvd and want to keep a copy, anyway please let me know how you get on.

Best wishes.

My burner will not burn cd's anymore. It still plays cd's fine as well as play and burn dvd's fine. I see no errors in hardware setup. It is a nec dvd +- RW ND 6650A that came with my Dell Inspiron E1705.

The CD Burner / Player / DVD Burner are all different heads. If the Dell Inspiron E1705 is an older model it is most likely you have reached the end of it's usable life for the CD burner part. If it is new the CD burner is most likely defective and hopefully warrantied. Otherwise these CD/DVD units can be replaced relatively inexpensively (as compared to buying a new laptop).

Nec dvd+-rw nd-6650a stop burning dvds

It's time to replace the defective (and probably warranty-expired) unit.

If your computer is a notebook, not a desktop, it's best to take the computer to a qualified technician, to disassemble your computer, and replace the drive.
