This program is helpful for burning pretty much anything.
Since I got this I don't use anything else.
If it persists even after this program, you may need a new CD/DVD burner.

IHi, i lost the CD for drives

follow these steps 1)Clearing upper and lower registry filters If you do not want to uninstall iTunes, or if the drive is still not functioning after uninstalling or updating iTunes, clear the registry filters as follows: NOTE: You may need to uninstall and reinstall software applications that are able to burn CDs after performing these steps.
  1. Unplug all non-essential external plug and play devices, especially cameras.
  2. Click Start c00850235.gif , and enter " regedit " into the Start Search field. The registry editor window appears.
  3. Select Computer in the main window.
  4. Click File , Export , type a filename that is easy for you to remember, and click Save . A copy of the registry has saved for back-up purposes to the Documents folder. If problems occur after using these steps, browse to the file and double-click it to restore the registry.
  5. Click the plus sign ( + ) next to the following items in the list:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    • SYSTEM
    • CurrentControlSet
    • Control
    • Class
  6. Select 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318 . Make sure you have selected this exact key name.
  7. Select the LowerFilters value and press the Delete key. Confirm the deletion by clicking Yes . Figure 3: Registry Editor: LowerFilter key c00877299.jpg
  8. If an UpperFilters value is also listed, select UpperFilters in the right window and press the Delete key. Confirm the deletion by clicking Yes .
  9. Delete all other UpperFilter and LowerFilter values within the 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318 key if they exist.
  1. Close the registry editor and restart the computer. The disc drive should now be recognized by Windows. You may need to reinstall the CD/DVD writing software if the software no longer recognizes the drive.

-Reinstall the driver of the cd dvd drive from the device manager

Upper and lower filter are missing in the CD registry CD player won't burn CDs in my sonic in a media Center says there's no CD drive recognized. Also in iTunes but it does work, burn CDs in my Nero

Hi, I have gone through the same issue in past. It all starts when you have installed a new cd/dvd burning software on your computer. All you need to do is uninstall Sonic and iTunes and re-install them so that they take all default settings that has been changed by Nero. In my case it worked like a charm.

Itunes drivers for importing and burning CDs/DVDs missing where can i get them? Bill

It seems that some users installing iTunes 8 on Windows systems are encountering an error message:

“ERROR: The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning cds and dvds are missing… Please re-install iTunes”

iTunes uses GEAR software drivers for importing and burning CD’s & DVD’s. Re-installing (or installing the latest GEAR drivers seems to fix this problem. No reboot required for this install.

You can get the current GEAR drivers here: http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.cfm

If this does not fix your problem download a fresh installer for iTunes here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Uninstall iTunes, reboot, & then do a fresh install of iTunes.

Hope This Help You
