Hello Carolyn;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

You have a door hinge problem.

First, get your oven model number. It is located on a metal plate on the face of the oven after you open the door.

Go into your computer search engine and type in; "Video replacing oven door hinge". Several door hinge replacements will appear. Hopefully one for your oven.

Before observing the video remove the bottom panel on your oven. There is a spring pin on each side of the bottom panel on the top. With a thin kitchen spatula or putty knife inset and hold spring pin down and pull out the top of the panel, do the same on the other side. Then lift up. there is a slot and metal hook on the bottom of each side. Observe your hinges. Are both or only one of the hinges broken?

Now, go into the following website and put in your model number. Select parts, several diagrams with part numbers will appear. Be careful your may have a right and left hinge. Copy the hinge part number then search the internet for best price.

If the hinge is not broken "Check the Springs".
They sometimes come off at one end or can be broken.
There are 2 one on each hinge. They are strong so be VERY careful.
As I remember they have a color code according to how strong that are according to the weight of the oven door.
The surest way is to get the MODEL NUMBER from the tag on your oven. The parts store will be able to look up the proper replacement.
I may be able to tell you more with a model number for Identification, the oven is likely a Whirlpool Product made for Kenmore. Let me know if you are in New York City area.
Hope this helps.

The drop down door on my Miele Oven H4271 won't stay open - it bounces back up which is dangerous and inconvenient.

Contact Authorized Service Center if it's under warranty, else get any local expert to help you with it. They're likely to change Locking System of your Oven.

The oven door does not close properly and stays open enough to keep the light on. Whirlpool Gold, Model GR399LX60

If it has a drop down door with hinge on either side, then only solution is to replace both door hinges, as the problem is usually due to weak door springs, and they are not adjustable.

Thankyou.

Oven door won't shut all the way

if it is a drop down door with side hinges, then the chances are it is weak door springs that is the problem.
The only solution is to replace both hinges, as there is normally no adjustment for tensioning.
Hope this helps.

Neff FD7903 Oven Drop down front door no longer fully closes & is getting worse - are the hinges adjustable?

I'm afraid not.

"Drooping" doors are very common on Neff ovens - I've had to replace a couple of sets - and seem very sensitive to things being placed on the door whilst in the open position, e.g. roasting tins whilst basting a bird/joint.

Replacement hinges are available - just Google your model number and the sponsored results will include several companies who can supply them - not cheap, but much less than a replacement oven.

Oven Handle drops off of door

Whatever keeps the handle on is not working. Most oven handles are held on by a screw on each end. It can be tightened from the inside of the oven door. If you don't see the screws, you may have to take the door apart. Buy some longer screws if needed.

Door does not seal, hinge looks fractured. the door looks like it has dropped and does not seal at the top, also when lowing the door there is no resistance and it wants to just flop down. Both hinges look...

you'll probably need to replace the whole door and hinges. the internal springs (inside the door) may have failed and allowed the door to drop and damage the hinges. don't believe it's fixable, but is replaceable.
at what cost, i can't guess- even if the parts are still available! compare the cost of fixing to the cost of replacing!
good luck!

My whirpool oven door dose not open

If it is a drop down door, then you will probably have to replace the oven door hinges, if it is a door that swings open, then it could be a broken door catch that needs to be replaced.

Thanks.
