Was machine ever converted to use a drain hose ? reason I ask if it has , some models are not backwards convertible , as ports and holes inside the machine have been knocked out to allow for use with a hose , , if your machine has a hose port sticking out im betting this has been already done , as I've not seen units come from factory with them already installed , but do include conversion kit inside package with instructions
SOURCE: Bucket fills up instead of water flowing out hose
There must be a blockage in the hose causing the water to back up and flow into the bucket. Try pushing a flexble peice of wire through the hose to unblock it.

Many just attach the hose at the reservoir; from your description, Haier apparently has a separate location. Check that the point that the hose attaches has an opening (many don't, they expect you to drill it). It should then drain through gravity. Check to make sure that no part of the drain hose is higher than the bottom of the reservoir, otherwise it can't drain. It won't siphon because each time the the tank empties, the suction is broken and the siphoning can't continue.
SOURCE: Danby ddr7009ree - continuous drain won't work
I have the same Danby unit and the same problem. When you take out the water bucket look inside and find the two holes where the water drips into the bucket. These holes are approximately 5/16" and 3/8" diameter. These holes need to be plugged. Your local hardware store has an assortment of specialized parts boxes. Find the box that contains "corks" of various sizes. They sell for about 20¢ apiece. I bought 5 within that size catagory and two of them worked! Problem solved.
SOURCE: Hose line is no longer draining the unit, bucket fills instead
Sounds like the connector hoae came off inside the machine . Look up inside the machine where the bucket would go and you should see where the hose attaches to the condensate drain . It might have pulled off .
