Internet Explorer 7 beta version uninstalling problem
I have installed Internet Explorer 7 beta version over IE 6 version of my OS Windows XP sp2. When I uninstalled it, I was not able to work with my earlier version. Getting no chance to work in the browser, I intended to reinstall it. But message comes that it is installed already. So, now I neither can work with earlier version nor new. I am bounded to work with other browesrs like Opera etc. Some of programs which connected to IE only like Yahoo Messenger give error messages when I start it. The first pop up error message is "The procedure entry point InternetGetSecurityInfoByURLW could not be located in the dynamic link library WININET.dll". Please help what to do now to use any of Microsoft Internet Explorer version properly.
I am not able to see it at Add/Remove Programs yet after "ticking" at the show updates. In fact, I also intended to reinstall it(Internet Explorer 7 beta). But the message comes that it is already installed. If I go for another lower version, the message comes that already higer version is installed. In fact, when I first time installed the IE 7 beta, I had a pop up message that do you want to keep your earlier version, and I don't remember for what option I had clicked. I am afraid, I have to reinstall my OS (Win XP) after uninstalling or formating. I will be very thankful to you if could somthing for me.I am not able to see it at Add/Remove Programs yet after "ticking" at the show updates. It seems,as seen in System Information, that some files missing. And there is need of registry editing too, as may be it possible that I changed it earlier. It seems,as seen in System Information, that some files missing. Re: Internet Explorer 7 beta version uninstalling problem
Go to ControlPanel > Add Remove programs scroll down and select the Internet Explorer 7 beta X, then click on chage remove. If you are not able to see the item see at the top of the window and "tick" show updates. It will display the IE installation. Tell me if it worked else you will have to manually uninstal it.

IE6 (if this what you mean) is installed on all windows XP SP2 PC to check what version of IE you have select the Help button click about Internet Explorer look for the Ver or Version text.
If you are on an earlier version of IE, then 6 IE 6 can be download from http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=1
You have not mentioned the operating system .. plz mention it .. However generally you can open computer or my computer .. go to the c: drive go to program files and look for internet explorer folder .. in that folder you could find an icon which looks like IE but would be written iexplorer.. U can use this as your IE .. rt click send to desktop and you will have an icon for it in the desktop. you can rename it to anything you like once it is in your desktop screen..
Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Add/Remove Programs
Click Show Updates
Select IE8
Click uninstall
This should "restore" your previous version of IE (6? 7?)
Or, if you're running Vista or 7, see: http://www.microsoft.com/ie9
and install "Internet Explorer 9 beta", i.e., a "pre-release" version of the _next_ version of IE.
Call it downgrade or restore or uninstalling , If you are having trouble with IE 9 beta which is breaking your add-ons or accelerators, below is the step on how you can uninstall IE 9. ( Check out the Feature list ) and roll back to previous version of IE 8 or IE 7 you had.
Click on Start Button and type in Programs and Features in the search box > Click View installed updates. Since this is Beta it gets installed as Updates and hence is not in uninstall list. and then click View installed updates.
Search for Windows Internet Explorer 9 When found right-click > Uninstall, Click yes when asked. You will need to reboot your computer to complete un-installation This will bring back the older version with everything right in place.
Pay Microsoft to get it activated as a genuine copy. Or buy legal copy of Windows XP.
Or you may want to take this opportunity to get Windows 7.
First run the windows 7 advisor - click here
Then purchase the OEM version it is cheaper than retail. Do not buy the upgrade version since you have an illegal copy of xp.
This solution depends on how long ago you installed all 3 Browsers on your system.
I'm assuming you're using a Windows PC running Windows XP or Windows Vista
1- First, you want to uninstall Safari and Google Chrome (one at a time) from your PC. These two browsers are new to PC's and are not fully debugged/tested yet.
2- after uninstalling both, restart your computer 1 time.
3- After starting up again, start Firefox and try to surf to a website you haven't tried before on it.
4- If unsuccessful, check which version of Firefox you're using. If it is older than version 3.01, use Internet explorer to go to their website and download the new version.
5- uninstall the old version of firefox first, before installing the new version (always follow this rule for all future program installations, unless otherwise stated in the instructions for the program)
6- Once you have the new version of Firefox installed, run it and check for internet connectivity.
7- Firefox may ask to get settings from Internet Explorer at some point, say yes.
basically your ie8 uninstallation is bad...try and see if you can get an ie8 uninstallation toolkit at microsoft.com to uninstall ie8 properly. Else, you might have to reinstall ie7 after uninstalling ie8.. this same problem persisted when micorosft released ie7 and i was supporting ie7 when released. so take my word. happens with all ie beta versions..
