We have hooked up the dryer and not getting hot is there a pilot light on it

Should be a ceramic igniter. It heats up, and when it is at the correct temperature the gas passes over it, and it ignites. If you bought the dryer used it may be cracked. If it is cracked, it will not work and must be replaced. The crack if very hard to see but when you find the igniter turn off the gas and turn on the dryer if it glows white hot it is okay if it is a dull orange it could be the problem.

1.is the pilot light lite burning.
2. if pilot light light is on ,does the blue flame of the pilot light touch and heat up the thermocouple.
the dryer will not turn on the heat if the pilot flame does not touch and heat up the thermocouple.

3 is the dryer plugged in to the electricity.
4. is the dryer actually getting electricity.
If the dryer has electricity and the pilot flame is touching the thermocouple, then try buying and installing a new thermocouple.

****have you purged the air out of the gas lines so that the dryer is actually geting pure propaine and not just air getting pushed ahead of the propaine.

how old is your dryer, if new, warranty service will trouble shoot & repair for free.

send the model number,you can't light the pilot anymore,they are electronic ignition now,is it gas or electric?find the model number around the opening where you put the clothes into dryer

There is no pilot light on many of the dryers of today. They light with a hot surface ignitor.

There is no pilot light on your dryer it sounds like you have a gas leak somewhere. Get a cup put alot of dish soap in it and a little bit of water and apply it to your fittings in the back. If you have a gas leak it will bubble up. If this is a used dryer you may have a damaged gas valve or another internal leak.

There is no standing pilot light. The gas is ignited by a hot surface device that is electrically controlled. Trace the exhaust venting to locate the burner area.

Make sure the gas valve at the dryer is turned on. Dryers use a glow plug or electronic ignitor to light the gas. There is no pilot light. Plug the dryer in and start it. Look inside the front lower panel to see if the ignitor glows. If it does and the gas does not light then the gas to the dryer is probably turned off. Look for a valve in the supply line to the dryer. Also inside near the front underneath.

Most new dryers don't actually have pilot lights. They use an electric heater that turns red hot, and ignites the gas at the right time. If your trying to light the pilot light (which probably doesn't exist) because the gas isnt being ignited,,, its possible that the electric igniter needs to be replaced.

No. They are electronic ignition. just plug it in and hook it to gas and should heat up.
