Check under Troubleshooting the second point saying "After I transferred songs with the music manager....." , open the information by clicking once.
Check for the format of the File System as described in the overview. When formatted in Windows Explorer the device has File SystemFAT32: this is the wrong file system for holding data.
Use the software that is delivered with your mp3 player to format it to the correct File System FAT or RAW.
After that your player will hold data after transferring songs.
