Had to remove needle plate to remove stuck fabric. Unable to re-install
If it fit when you took it off, but you're having trouble putting it back on again, chances are you haven't put your bobbin case in correctly--that's why it won't fit. Review the placement of the case in your user's manual; if you can't locate it, you can download one free at the Singer Sewing Machine site.

Take the boobin shuttle out and take the needle plate off, and check very very closely for a small piece of thread. The smalllest peice can muck the whole thing up. But the odd thing is it can come and go. The other thing is always oiling anything that moves.

Yes, put your second thread in a cup behind your machine and thread your machine like normal

Sounds like you threaded it wrong and kept trying to sew, gently get all of your material out of the machine, DO NOT FORCE, GENTLY ROCK IT OUT OR YOU WILL WRECK THE MACHINE, also watch your dvd and learn about threading from your book. Always, hold your thread ends when you start to sew. If, you cannot find your manual go to www.singerco.com, I have sewn for 50+ years and found that the dvd was very helpful, each machine is different.

Your machine needs a professional to fix your timing and tune it up. You may have messed up the timing when you took off the belt. It is worth getting it fixed.
