go to start menu, choose printer & faxes, click the printer icon properties and find the printer resolution to adjust the dark printing capability

Did the dark lines start after the change? If so, maybe the drum on one of the cartridges is damaged. (Since you mentioned dark, I'd suspect the black cartridge.) Try replacing cartridges.

If that doesn't fix it, you can send it in for repair if it's under warranty. If it's outside warranty, I'd probably just replace it, unless you want to learn a lot about the innards of a laser printer.

If you have pulled the paper while printing, you might need to re-calibrate the drum. Go to your printer settings and re-calibrate it.

Mite need to have the drum replace and check the charge corona housing above the drum when you pull the drum unit out.. Also check the fuser unit the hot part.

If the drum has an scratch, that's your problem. It grounds and interrupts the process. if you have spare drum replace it. if you haven't, try curing the scratch part with a colorless nail polish, super glue or roll a thin tape on it. only if you don't have spare. it's better to replace new one.

If you have the black line on copies and scans but printing from P.C is fine, then your scanner is broken.

Contact your printer manufacturer for a replacement or repair.

There are 4 inks, cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. When the black runs out, you are left with sort of a dark purple or brown color.

Colour printing is ok? Replace black PCU.
