I have Ricoh 1600le copier and laptop windows 8 so how we install scanner in windows 8 through USB cable

Scanner driver gets installed in your computer, not through the USB port, unless you have software on a thumb drive. Typically, you will download the driver from Ricoh, and install it. Then the computer will recognize the scanner, and you're good to go.

Hello there.
BEFORE you start, you must find out the Windows operating system you are running on your PC. To do this, go to 'Control Panel' then 'System'. The system page will tell you what version of windows you have. Make a note of the version !!!!


The drivers for your Aficio machine are available to download from this page http://support.ricoh.com/bb/html/dr_ut_e/rcn/model/mp16/mp16en.htm

You just click on the Windows system that you are using, and you will then be able to download the drivers for the 1600le. You will probably need ALL the four different printer drivers.

To install the drivers, you will need to run each downloaded file and store the files extracted driver files in a NEW folder.

You then go to control panel - system - device manager - right click on your printer and update the drivers.

It is complicated but as with all computer items, it makes sense when you do it.

All you are doing is telling your specific PC, HOW to 'drive' the printer. Just like if you got in to a new Truck, you would want to have the driving instructions.

You can download for free the scan twain on www.ricoh.com.
Or you can add users and creat paths to do scan-to-folder (i think it is easier and work better)

please go to www.ricoh.com and instal the scanner drivers of windows-7 other wise you can instal the scan to folder which dos not required any drivers or you can install scan to mail this also does not required any drivers - thanks

scanner driver can only be installed if you have the network option fitted in the printer. the scanner doesnot work through usb.

I have the same problem. I use the USB, my client is far far away from me, and is better for me install the Ricoh using the USB. But the scanner don't work.

Maybe the only way is using a ethernet cable, but i dont want to drive so far... :(

use an updated driver version for this machine on ricoh-support.com, another solution is using pcl5 driver as this one does spooling at computer and not machine...
