Why does the oven time flash but the oven won't turn on?

My dad was trying to turn the oven on this morning, he pressed different buttons. Now the oven won't come on. The time display is just flashing or if we turn it off at the wall sometimes info comes up on the display. Any ideas???

Power to the unit by removing one or more fuses or tripping one or more breakers at the main entrance panel or at a separate panel. If the range is fused at a separate panel, this panel may be located adjacent to the main panel or in a basement, crawl space, or other location. If there is a grounding wire to the range, disconnect it. Make sure the power to the unit is off.
Servicing FusesIf the range or oven is receiving power but doesn't work, the unit may have its own fuse or circuit breaker assembly. This assembly is usually located under the cooktop of the range. In some units, lift the top of the range to gain access to the fuse assembly; or lift the elements, remove the drip pans, and look on the sides of the cabinets. Inside the oven, look to the back to spot the fuse assembly.
If the unit has this additional fuse or breaker system, components such as the oven light, the range heating elements, the timer, and a self-cleaning feature may be separately fused.
If these components or features fail to work, don't overlook the possibility that the fuses have blown. To replace a blown fuse, unscrew the old fuse and install a new one of the same type and electrical rating. If the unit has circuit breakers, push the breaker or reset button, which is usually located on the control panel.

We cannot turn the oven on! No instruction manual. The 'A' is flashing on the 'clock'/timer - what does this mean?

This means it is in auto mode. It must be in manual mode for the oven to work. Turn the oven to ON. Some clocks have 2 or 3 buttons. Press the buttons at the same time/try all different combinations. This might take a few minutes, be patient. When the oven indicator lights the clock is in manual mode.

How do i turn on a white atlas ceramic electronic oven, the ceramic top is working, but the oven screen flashes from"0:00" to "auto" when i try and fiddle round with the oven...

Turn the oven control on. Now play with the buttons on the electronic timer/clock. Try all different combinations. Trying pressing them at the same time. This may take 5 minutes or more. If the timer is not faulty this will work, be patient. When the oven indicator light comes on the oven is on and the timer is now in manual mode.

Clock keeps flashing i keep setting clock but after 5 minutes or so starts flashing again putting tape over ready time button to hold it down then reset clock seems to work till the tape comes loose Stove...

It looks like the clock is on its way out. I would try two things. First, turn the power off at the main switch, leave it off for a few mins and then turn it back on and see if it makes a difference. You may need to do this a couple of times. Secondly, with the power switched off, repeatedly press all the clock buttons one at a time a number of times - there may be a contact that needs cleaning by operation and then see what happens. if you do need a new clock/timer then ask espares for a quote.

Can not re set time

Are you trying to reset the timer or the Clock? It's a bit different on each stove, but usually if it's the clock, you press the Clock button TWICE, the time will then begin to flash on and off. then press the + or - sign to increase or decrease the time. When you have gotten to the time you desire, PRESS the Clock button ONCE more. The time will be set, & then you should be all set :).

If it's the KITCHEN TIMER, Press the Kitchen Timer button ONCE, the timer will start flashing. It will usually flash all 0000's. Press the + sign to add minutes, then Press the Timer Button ONCE again, it will be set to the amount of time you added and will beep once the time runs out.

Disclaimer: This instruction is primarily for the General Electric Stove. If you state your specific model, I could be more specific.

Cannot set time and Oven will not operate

Depending on the make of oven, you have to press the buttons in a certain sequence if it is a digital one, try pressing the buttons in sequence, sometimes you have to press 2 together, and a third one at the same time,if it is a anologue timer, then make sure you can see the symbol of a hand in the display.
If you cannot get the timer of auto, then it is probably faulty.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.
