You could try unplugging it, removing the battery then plugging it back in and turning it on. If that works, put the battery back while it's on and see if that gets things back to normal. If it won't go without the battery, the problem is with the laptop.

The battery may have gone bad. Amazon is one of the cheapest places to look for a replacement.

My Pavilion g6-1b79dx notebook will not charge even with a new battery and charger. The light indicating the charger is plugged in is blinking white

When you say it won't charge, does it charge at all?

1. It indicates that it is charging, but as soon as you unplug the charger the battery quickly or immediately indicates it is dead. If the laptop is off, the LED on the laptop shows it is charging but the battery is always dead,

2. It is as if you didn't have the charger plugged in. No light on the laptop at all when the charger is plugged in.

Possible solutions:

1. The battery has died and is no longer capable of taking a charge. An alternate explanation if you can't even get the laptop to turn on even though the laptop charge LED is on, is that the internal power supply that converts the incoming and battery voltage to all the voltages required has died.

2. The power connector inside the laptop is a common failure point. The solder joints break from various minor shocks over time. This is going to become more common with lead-free solder as it is more brittle. Less likely is that the charging circuit inside the laptop has failed.

WHy wont it stay on? it charges n say its full but then when i turn it on the battery dies within 20 seconds

if you have been using this player for quite some time, it is due to the fact that the battery has out done its lifespan and therefore can not with hold anymore charges or power for your device.
one good way to know if its this is to see if it says fully charged and yet goes flat, also it could take a shorter time to charge and an even shorter time to die.
on the other hand, it could be due to the fact that the battery might be making a partial contact with the terminals and so the terminals are not able to draw enough power from it.
anyway, the best way to do it is to replace the battery with a new one which you can purchase online from ebay.com or any other site.
if it persists, you should send it to a repairer.
hope this helped you? please rate

Battery charging problem on my asus x50rl, onto 2nd battery now, initial charge ok but will not charge up now

you may need to recalibrate the battery, to do this you need to run the laptop until it shuts down due to power, turn it back on and on boot press f2 or w/e your bios key is and plug it back in then let the laptop run until it dies again. plug it in and let it charge completely. i hope this helps

Battery does not charge

Will the old battery (that you are replacing) charge up at all? If the old battery charges but the new battery will not, then it's likely a bad replacement battery.

To rule out the possibility of a corrupted battery meter inside of windows, you may wish to leave the laptop on battery power only, until it dies. A 5% charge will usually only grant you about 20 minutes of laptop life maximum. Since you left it charging all night, you should get a few hours of life before it dies. If you get a few hours of life, the battery meter software is corrupted.

Most likely though, the replacement battery is bad.

Laptop battery wont charge, wont even turn on to charge.

A common trouble is that the solder joints from the power jack to the motherboard can break. This is due to flexing the power plug over time. When this happens the power can't get onto the board at all to run the computer or charge the battery. Sometimes the connections may still work, so you get the intermittent operation you mentioned.

Usually this can be repaired, but it means disassembling the computer to take out the motherboard and resoldering the connections. In some cases, the motherboard can be damaged by heating and arcing from the bad connections and can't be repeaired, but this is pretty rare. A computer shop might be able to do the repair if they get into that level of service.
