You have a volume control on your source(ie. satellite or cable) & a volume control on the TV. If you have both too high you may get a pop when you change channels. You will need to lower the volume on both until you come to a satisfactory compromise between the two systems.

My sound on Onkyo HT R 548 stopped working

If this is a Surround Sound System you can check channel and audio tone levels using the remote. Check remote for a receiver button followed by Test button. Check manual for test instructions.

Tv channel lock up

It sounds that the main system control memory IC is faulty. Replace it and check. It is a very small IC, having 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to main system control IC. Will look somewhat like this.

The sound works on video channel, but not on TV channels. I have no remote controller

It's not going to be the mute feature as the sound works on video. Tuner may be damaged? Could be the channel?

I can't program my tv to regular antenna channels

You can program to regular (analog) antenna channels. To do so you must use the original remote which has a TV/DTV switch in the top right corner of the remote. Choose the appropriate mode for the type of channel you want to see or scan for. Here is a link to the owners manual and a picture of the remote swithc. The info on the signal switching is on pg.13.

Menu won't show.

sounds actually like it has had weather damage, sometimes water can get into a place it shouldnt on a tv, not shorting it out, but instead messing up in your case the numbers or menu screen, so i'd say it is best to take it to tyour nearest recycler, hope this helps.......jason
