Had a similar problem after loading a suspect dvd (one I had burned myself) Could not do anything - stuck at loading. Don't remember if the fan was running. From what I have read these units are touchy to bad disks (DVD or HDD) If yours has a DVD inserted try this :
Good luck. It worked for me.
SOURCE: Will not open the DVD tray.
if your dvd tray is not open you need a one inch pin or needle into hole..the hole right side .....then your dvd tray open

I think you have problem in DVD deck assembly the owner manual won't help you if still under warranty bring back to Samsung if out of warranty you can buy the DVD deck from Samsung and replace by yourself
Let me know if you need part number for the DVD deck
SOURCE: Tray Wont open
Hello All. Well, I just finished troubleshooting the same problem of one of my customers units. At first I thought it was the tray contacts but they were good. What I noticed with the cover off and the shield for the laser removed...BE CAREFUL NOT TO BREAK IT TAKING IT OFF ANF DON"T LOOK AT THE LASER...that if I moved the DVD motor, the motor that turns the DVD...it has a rubber wheel on the shaft...that the tray would open. The trouble was intermittent but I also noticed that the wheel would move when pressing the OPen button. I therefore concluded that the motor somehow was in the circuit to open the tray. So, I took the motor out CAREFULLY and on the end opposite the wheel there are two small holes. These holes appear to be access holes for assembly and to hold the brush contacts away from whatever they use for a commutator. At first i was going to disassemble the motor but changed my mind. I have contact cleaner spray and some old Color Tuner Cleaner spray from the old days of mechanical TV tuners. I gave each hole a small shot of spray and turned the wheel. Careful not to contaminate the rubber on the wheel as it is what grips the DVD and pushes it against the white nylon bearing. Voila, the tray opens and closes and the Load display is no more. As I said, be careful. If you are unsure...let someone who understands this stuff do it. Ed

You may have a dirty lens on the DVD read head. There are CD/DVD cleaning kits available at some drug stores and electronic stores. Do not get a "CD cleaning kit" (that only cleans the discs), get a "CD/DVD lens cleaning kit" (it will have a special CD and cleaning solution) for $10 to $20.
If that's not it the DVD illumination LED may be dead. If it still plays CDs, but won't play DVDs, that's the problem. There are separate LEDs for playing CDs and DVDs.
Either way, if the cleaning doesn't work, it has to be fixed in an electronics shop.
