Monitor will not turn on

I need help finding out why the light on my monitor is flashing orange & green. The monitor is not turning on at all when computer boots up or when you press the power button on the monitor itself.
What could this be??? Thank You!

    Checked cords.
Power light on power pack is green.
Hooked it up to another computer, same thing.
Unplugged cables from back and replugged.
Blew canned air in to blow away any dust.
Threw it in the street, ran over it with the car several times, hit it with a sledge hammer. Told it I was sorry.
    This is a Microtek 712S
The power button just flashes blue, lavander, orange. Nothing on screen.
    I'm bummed.
Microtek website is no help at all.

Common problem with Dell Monitors. There are two components inside a LCD monitor, a video board and a power supply board. One of them is bad. Since you have the flashing LED, i would guess it is the video board. You can buy these boards all over the internet since Dell monitors are constantly defective.

Unless you recently installed new video or monitor drivers, it sounds like either bad cabling to your computer (check the cables?) or the ribbon cable inside the LCD monitor has come unseated.

The unseated ribbon cable problem is more common if you recently moved the monitor or dropped it a bit. You can open the back of the LCD monitor (unplug it first of course) and check to make sure the signal ribbon is seated properly, this is a common problem.

Good luck...

Monitor flashes logo and then turns black.with red lights on

Here's some tricks I would try. Something here, might help...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your monitor on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.
Good luck.

Why has my monitor turned orange. model dylm19r6 computer monitor

If you mean the light on your monitor is orange instead of green, it means the monitor is not receiving data from the computer.

Monitor will not turn on? westinghouse model L2046NV black screen will not turn on what should I do?

Do you see an orange light on the monitor anywhere? Usually the light turns green when the monitor comes on, but its orange when in "standby" mode. If your monitor is plugged in and you get an orange light, that usually means that your video card has gone out on your computer. When your video card goes out, the monitor doesn't receive a signal from your computer, so it doesn't know it is suppose to turn on. So if this is the case, you need to replace the video card on your computer

If your monitor doesn't turn on whatsoever, and everything is plugged in correctly, then you need to get a new monitor or send this one back to the manufacturer for a defective replacement.

Hope this helps! :)

Monitor will not stay on

Generally Monitors have a single light in fron pannel, with dual mode colors as Green and Orange.

Green: Everything is OK .
Orange: Everything is OK, except it is not getting
any signals from computer or other source.

Try with any other monitor with your CPU, it may happen that CPU actually not providing any signal to Monitor. Try checking the "NUM LOCK" button on and off, whether it makes the light on keyboard to flash on or off.
If NUM LOCK is woking OK, there is surely some problme with your monitor and you need to get is checked physically with an engineer.

Green light flashing, but monitor won't come on

Sounds like signal issue, some older monitor lights do not turn orange when no signal is present from the computer. They simply blink instead of staying solid.

- I would test to see if monitor works on another computer with a known working monitor. If the monitor works then you know you have a video output issue.

If the monitor does not, you have a dead monitor.

Cheers,

Sir Help me with my Compaq monitor MV520 it won't turn the power led flashing orange to green continously

it could be th epower supply and it could be the monitor.
power ON button should not flash orange regardless what you do. it should stay green. then orange. not orange to green to orange.
try the monitor on another PC if you can fine one.
the other thing is are the 2 monitor similar (CRT to CRT and LCD to LCD), you can't mix the the two, they will work but need different video driver to function correctly.

No display on monitor only orange light

Hi,

Normally the orange light should turn green when everything is a go. Often the problem of orange light is not really the monitor but the PC. There is not video output from the video card and the monitor in sensing this assumes that the cable is unplug and thus does not switch on (green).

The sure way of determining which is at fault is to try and use a different monitor to your PC (as well as the cable). Should problem persist, then it is the PC that would need to be checked. On the other hand, if the PC works with another monitor, then you have just verified that indeed the monitor is defective.

Should you have verified that it is the PC, suspect would either be the video card and/or the memory sticks. In some instances cleaning with a pencil eraser the little gold pins of either the video card and/or the memory sticks helps.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
