A replacement screen maybe available from this WEB site.

Keep the screws together as you remove them so you will know which screws are needed to install when you fi the new LCD screen
Undo the screws that hold the bezel that surround the LCD screen, then remove the bezel (it may be also held in place with double sided tape).
When the bezel is removed the LCD screen is secured to the hinge assembly by more screws around the edge of the LCD screen.

Screen Replacement

Simple. Check out the youtube video. Basically all screens are about the same as far as taking them apart. There will be rubber bumpers on the plastic strip that is around the screen to remove and then the screws will be exposed. Remove the screws, remove the plastic strip by prying it off with a little force from you fingers. Then remove the screws that hold the lcd screen to the bracket. Be mindful of the cable that is behind the lcd screen that you will have to remove and be mindful of the lcd inverter at the bottom of the screen that will have a cable in it from the screen. Some later models use what is called LED instead of LCD screens and they don't have lcd inverters.

This is its contents without the pictures:

OK, let’s get inside the display assembly.
First of all, turn off the laptop, unplug AC adapter and remove the battery.
The screen bezel* has four screws hidden under for seals. Two rubber seals on the top of the bezel and two plastic seals on the bottom.
You can remove all four screw seals with a sharp object as it shown on the picture below. Glue removed seals somewhere on the bezel so they don’t get lost.
Remove four screws found under seals.
Start remove the screen bezel with your fingers. Proceed slowly while removing the bezel.
Carefully separate the display cover from the screen and access the LCD cable connector
You’ll have to unplug the LCD cable from the screen.
First, unglue the clear sticky tape securing the connection.
Second, unplug the LCD cable from the connector on the screen.
Here’s how you can remove the LCD screen.
Simply remove four screws securing the LCD screen to the display hinge. Remove four more screws from the other side of the screen.
Now you can remove and replace the LCD screen with a new LCD screen.
Put all the screws back in there places

Hp pavilion dv 1000 screen replacment

Dear lotaman, I have searched the world to find an exact guide for your monitor but it is impossible. Neveretheless I have found the following guides and they should be more than enough to complete the task in hand anytime.

TIP: The ZV5000 looks and is very similar to the HP DV1000 screen so I would start from there. All guides are very nicely explained.

Please remember to remove the battery before you do any work with the laptop.

My lcd is broken on my sidekick !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Either buy the entire screen portion off Ebay which would only require you to remove the swivel portion and screen or just the LCD (which would be cheaper but a bit more work to replace, albeit simple). With a small screwdriver, remove the LCD from the phone by unscrewing the back of the screen and replacing LCD. You may still need to remove the entire screen from the base and as the swivel portion is on a coil, be mindful that it doesn't swivel after removal. I usually leave one of the screws in place to keep the screen from swiveling, otherwise, if it uncoils just wind the swivel portion to a moderate tightness and then reattach it to the unit after replacing the LCD.
