This is the serial number. The model such as "Touch and Sew" or the actual model number might suffice. Anyway, find the age by using this information. Sometimes by looking at the ebay you can find information that you would like to know.

I need to find the model and year of my singer sewing machine serial number aa554188

The AA554188 serial number indicates a model 99 built after August 4, 1925. It was manufactured in Elizabeth, NJ. This site, http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/serial-numbers/singer-sewing-machine-serial-number-database.html , has most of the details on the Singer serial numbers. Some of the parts are available here: http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/singer-99-sewing-machine-parts.aspx .

I hope this helps.

I have an old singer machine made in Canada. Model # J0855850. What is the year and value. Is there a manual available?

You can find some information about your machine here:

Singer Sewing Machine Company Serial Numbers

Unfortunately (or fortunately!), Singer made thousands of sewing machines for over 100 years. There are a lot of them around. Unless yours is a special edition coveted by collectors (Red Eye, etc), it probably doesn't have as much value as you would think. Of course, a lot of it also depends on its condition (physical and operational), the accessories that are included, the storage case, where it is located, etc. Value is really how much someone is willing to pay for it.

Most people keep their old Singers simply because they are great machines, relatively easy to repair (partly because there are a lot of parts available and they are mechanically simple), and fun to use.

I am looking for manual, tension control, long bobbins and needles. Any help is appreciated.

Since you have a very old machine, probably your best bet is finding items on eBay or the like. At any rate, it will require quite a bit of patience and persistence on your part.

Singer 15nl

It is available on the Singer Sewing Machine site; unfortunately, there is no free download available, but it's only $3.50. As to the parts, there are several sites that cater to antique machines, and you may be able to obtain what you need there, if you do a search.

I need an instruction manual

You did not specify the model for which you are looking for a manual. The is site offers free downloads for many Singer Instruction Books:

http://www.singermachines.co.uk/sewingmachineparts/instruction-books/

There are other sites for which a fee is charged and depending on your model you may need to access one of these sites. If your manual is not available here, please reply with your model number and will see if I can provide an alternate source

I have been given an old electric Singer sewing machine. On the plate is the number (so far as I can make out) C869290. When I plug it in, the drive wheel spins without the foot pedal being depressed. Is...

books are available and so are parts but the number you give is not a model number, some older machiens do not have model numbers even on them. if you can find modle number or take picture and send to [email protected] they can identify it and or get a book for you.
