Most cable boxes today use the AUX input. If it's that old, it may not have the right ports.

Yes, generally you would set the TV tuner to channel 3. As you mention it's an "old one", you may need a digital converter box as well as the cable box.

I have a sony trinitron 36in tv, the screen works fine, colours are all great, no flickering or random shapes at all, its just a little blurry around edges, especially small text, its very blurry and...

it is very easy you just need a very small straight edge screwdriver

you should try to adjust sharpness setting with on screen adjustment first

if tv is too old tube might be going "soft" and sharp focus might not be able to be fully achieved anymore

good luck

Tv and ps3 plugged in and on. av channel shows an empty screen

Follow these steps to resolve your problem:

1. Turn off the PS3 so it only shows a red light. You can hold the power button on the front until it goes into standby. To be sure, flick the power switch on the back of the Play Station 3 off and then back on.

2. Make sure your Play Station 3 is connected to your regular TV (not HDTV) with the standard video cables.

3. Press and hold the power button until the screen "flickers" and then immediately release. This should reset the video settings.

4. Wait a few seconds, and the Play Station 3 (PS3) logo should appear.

If this does not resolve the problem, follow these steps:

3. Press and hold the power button on the front until the Play Station 3 beeps and then turns off again. This should reset the video for you and you can turn it back on after this.

Ps3 broken

When you attach your Play Station 3 to an HD TV through an HDMI port, the Play Station 3 will ask you if you wish to switch to HD Mode.

However, if you decide to move it to another TV that is not HD compatible, you will get no picture because the Play Station 3 is “stuck” in HD (HDMI) mode.

3. Press and hold the power button on the front until the Play Station 3 beeps and then turns off again. This should reset the video for you and you can turn it back on after this.

That’s it! You can play your Play Station 3 again!

Lost some stations on my Sony lcd TV.

It is a possibility if you are using a cable tv service, without a converter box, that the cable company has limited the number of station you are able to receive. It seems to be their new ploy to get subscribers to get a box since the digital changeover. I also may be that the TV's tuner memory may have to be re-programmed. Go into the menu and go through the channel scan process and see if they return. If they don'y it may be a tuner issue. An easy fix is to get a cable box!
Hope this has been helpful

Lost some stations on my Sony lcd TV.

It is most likely a signal issue. Bad coax connections, splitters and faulty cable are usually the culprit. Best to call your cable company and request a signal test. You may also try swapping tvs. Swap sony with viewsonic in the room where viewsonic tv is.

Play station 3 - Sony

Try to connect to a different tv, also is the playstation 3 have any abnormal colors on the console, like the playstation 2 is green when on but I think they change to red if something is wrong. You will need to eliminate the problem at a time, hook the PS2 to tv, if it works fine then connect PS3 again, if doesn't look right, then it is no good.

Playstation 3 hook up

If there is no picture on the TV screen: Back to top
  • Check that the input mode of the TV is appropriate for the connector in use on the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.
  • There may be a problem with the cable in use. Try using another cable that is compatible with the PLAYSTATION®3.
  • If the video output settings on the PLAYSTATION®3 do not match those of the cable or TV in use, there may be no picture. If the screen goes blank, turn off the system.
  • Then, with only the PLAYSTATION®3 and the TV connected, touch the system's power button for more than 5 seconds to turn the system back on. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution.

Losing picture on tv!

The ITC008 chassis is commonly riddled with poor solder connections. Good soldering station, patience and some good light and magnification and you might be able to fix it... Or you could spend a few dollars and run it into the shop and have a tech do it! It's not an expensive repair.

If you only have basic cable with no cable box this may be normal. You may need to upgrade your service or get a cable box.
