it is not any kind of car or truck,so moved you to portable elect gas generators.
does it burn gas/petrol or LPG?
with engine stalled, oil lamp on is 100% normal
but never at the time of stall (or just before)
the oil pump runs off the crankshaft is why.
new spark plug is cure. i bet.
or use chock longer.
carb, gasoline , petrol.
if spark tip is in raw fuel , turn off chock and crank it dry.
the gen has many buttons switches make sure all are set correct for sure on./off .
is it elect starter or hand cord cranked or both?
I assume this is dual fuel.... LPG and gasoline??????? Is cooling system full? If so, probably plugged filter on LPG convertor. If you are not knowledgeable with LPG, get someone who is. LPG is highly explosive.

It is normal. All LPG converted engines start with gasoline. Then when they reach 2000 rpm move on LPG system.
If you want to start directly with LPG must call a professional to modify your installation.
i know YAMAHAwere doingsome work on converting outboard motors to run on LPG they may be able to get a bit of info from the STATE distributors might be worth a phone call
first off, is this an LPG, Nat Gas, or Gasoline powered unit? If you are sure that it is running too rich and you have no adjustment; the easiest way to reduce the volume of liquid going to the carb would be to put a regulating valve in the line somewhere. you could use a gate valve or even a ball valve if you had to.
