I would like to change the 110 volt input transformer in my Acoustimass subwoofer to a 220 volt transformer. The current number on the unit is 194459. What is the model number for the 220 volt unit?

This information may differ depending on the manufacturer, model, and version of the product.

It is critical that any replacement part you select is compatible with your specific model of subwoofer and meets the electrical standards. Making changes to electrical components such as transformers can be dangerous if done incorrectly, and it may also void the product's warranty.

  • I recommend contacting the manufacturer or an authorized repair center for assistance in locating a compatible replacement transformer and instructions on any necessary installation procedures. They will be able to give you the most accurate and safe answer for your particular situation.

SOURCE: subwoofer blows internal fuse when receiver is turned on

Has it ever worked?

Try this - connect one pair of its speaker wires at a time and test it. Watch the polarity.

• Make sure all cube speaker arrays are connected to the proper terminals according to their
position in your room.
• Check to be sure all wires are connected to your surround receiver with the proper polarity
(+ to + and – to – wires). Incorrect wiring can result in a total loss of module output.
• Correct any wiring problems before you plug in your receiver and turn it on.

SOURCE: Hi. I got a Bose Acoustimass

Do you have any plan to use the Bose Acoustimass 20 sub/amp in it original form?
Please double check the pins count.
Popular Bose unit has 8,9 or 13 pins.
=====

A Bose third party vendor does sell a direct cable from the Bose Acoustimass 20 to two RCA and 1/8" stereo jack.
You can open the link HERE
Full site HERE
I'm sure you can find other cable vendor at a lower price.
======
I do not recommend you to open the Bose Acoustimass 20 and get the two set of wires out of the box.
It may cause damage to the casing.
======
On the DIN plug.
With notch / dimple facing the ground.
From let to right
1 = RED negative
2 = White negative
3 = RED positive
4 = White positive
5 center = un-use.

Please use an ohm meter to verify the resistance between1 to 4 and 2 to 4 before you start hooking up to the amp.

Please keep my posted on the project via email.

I WANT TO MAKE SURE THE TURNTABLE IS SET ON 110

be careful . USA voltage is 110 volt - see on the power input and lable - does it state 220 Volt or 110 . Usually you will find a selector switch on the power input side .to set the local voltage - otherwise you need a stepdown transformer

A transformer rated 480/110/220 volt, single phase. The currents on the secondary are 16 amps on L1, 27 amps on L2. What is the primary current on the transformer?

Assuming L1 terminals are the 110 V output and L2 are the 220V output, then the theoretical 440V input current for a 100% efficient , i.e. lossless, transformer would be 17.5 amperes.if the secondaries are delivering the specified currents. More realistically the input current might be 2 to 5% higher since transformer generally run at 95 to 98% efficiency. 18.5 amperes would be an approx result.
Amps at 440 V = ((16 x 110) +(27 x 220)) /440

What do i have to do to plug my 110 air conditioner into where my 220 window unit

You need a step down transformer, to convert 220V to 110V. You can't just plug the 110V A/C unit in directly unless it is clearly marked as being suitable for multi-voltage supply (110V - 220V input).

Such a transformer has to be of sufficient capacity to handle the current, or wattage, that will be required. The Frigidaire unit in your question is a 3.5 kW cooling capacity, so the transformer would need to be about the same, ie for a 10A supply at least. They are quite big boxes, about $120.

You would put this in the roof or in a cupboard.

No, You'll burn up the appliance. When I was in Germany there were commercially available transformers to step the current down. The transformers plug into the 220 sockets and provide several 110 sockets to plug your appliance into. We purchased several transformers and ran our 110 tvs, kitchen appliances and other 110 appliances. The 220 sockets in Germany were different than 110 and 110 plugs sould not fit.

Will it be okay to connect a 110 volt laptop to a 220 volt LCD projector?

What voltage is your mains supply?
The laptop's adapter should be a multi-voltage type 110 to 240 volts input.
If your mains is 110 volts AC then the 220 volt AC LCD projector won't work unless you connect it to a step up transformer (110 to 220 volt transformer).
If your mains supply is 220 or 240 volts then both the laptop and the LCD projector will work without any problems.

Korg triton studio Change voltage input from 110v to 220v

Safest thing is to use a transformer. If it is only 35 watts, that is pretty small.

Often you can find a small "control transformer" that has dual primaries for 120/240 volts.

Connect it as an "Autoformer". In this connection you would only need one thaat would handle half the 35 watts... However, the smallest is probably 5 watts giving lots of capabilty. Google "autoformer" to see how to connect it. Essentially the primaries go in series and you take you 110 from one-half this combination.

The secondary of a control transformer used this way would NOT be used but just taped for insulation.

You might contact a heat and ventilation company as they may have one... even one that was removed for very low cost.

Changing the inpout voltage of inside bose Acoustimass module

Probably not, but you can install a step-down transformer if there's room inside the unit. Since these speakers don't use much current, a small transformer will work. It doesn't have to be a 220-to-110 transformer either - any transformer designed to cut the voltage in half is fine. A 24 volt-to-12 volt transformer will also work.

HP laptops power supply

Well, as a rule for electronics:
The United States and Canada use 110-volt electricity.
Most countries outside North America use 220-volt electricity.
Unless your appliance is dual voltage, you need to use a "converter" or a "transformer" to change the 220-volt electricity into 110-volt electricity in order to use a 110-volt appliance.
If your appliance is dual voltage, you can switch it to work on 220-volts, without a transformer or converter.

HOWEVER

Desktop units have a selector switch for 110 / 220 volts., which is done away with in the case of laptop one's which sense the input voltage and regulate accordingly.

I think your main concern is just that you have an adapter for the plug to go into the wall outlet.

Hope that helps :)
