Need original blower motor and cap. specs for Ruud Deluxe 90+

The variable speed DC motors you describe do use less power but cost 14 times more too, not worth it especially with you motor running!

inside blower housing you have 4 bolts attaching squirrel cage housing to upper track. remove it comes out with motor attached.

sounds like squirrell cage issues being out of balance. motor bearings are more subtle then that.

COULD BE EITHER THE ONLY WAY TO CHECK IS CHECK THE CAP IF BAD REPLACE IT, IF GOOD TEST MOTOR.

NO BECAUSE THE BOARD IS TELLING THE FANS TO STARTARE THE CONTACTS FUSED TOGETHER OR STUCK IN THE CLOSED POSISTION CHECK THIS FIRST

Chances are, you've smoked the motor. You basically put 120 volts across the speed windings of the motor when you did this.

What you need to do is, with the new motor, you will have neutral, and speed 1, speed 2, speed 3, etc. Hook one of the original black wires to neutral (it would be best to trace which of the two black wires is connected to neutral, and connect this one.).

Black on the new motor is probably High speed, red is probably low, orange is medium speed. Hook the remaining black wire to one of these, and no more than one of these, or you will smoke the motor again.

Attach a wire cap and/or electrical tape to the remaining wires to insulate them from contacting anything else.

George, make sure the belt is not loose flapping around making all that noise.

Not hard to change if you can get one from an hvac friend, they won"t sell to homeowners normally.

If the fan motor is blowing out the burner then is there a hole in the heat exchanger
